Nice emotional chapter, quite obvious Erza wasn't going to die, but yeah, he could have explained a little more of exactly *how* Natsu managed to get her out of that vortex. Well, maybe in future chapters he will. Who knows.
Anyway, this arc had its good moments, but overall, wasn't all that great. Hopefully now Mashima can step back, think for a bit, and create something monumental.
Technically speaking Natsu pulling Erza out of the Etherion was foreshadowed when he rescued her from the same thing right before he fought gerrard, the only real difference is the shear AMOUNT of etherion that he pulled her out of, as before she was just partially merged with crystal as opposed to this time where she was completely immersed in a giant vortex of the stuff
