I know Sayaka and her friend Yuki were only small children when the incident happened, but realistically, Sayaka should’ve explained to Yuki why it would be dangerous for other kids to find out about her magic powers. That’s what any rational person would’ve done, but again, small children don’t really understand consequences, nor would they know what to really say when caught in the act. She told Yuki that she “felt embarrassed” which gave Yuki the impression that having magic was used nonchalantly. And of course, Yuki ending their friendship would leave an impact for a long time, especially when Sayaka already felt like an outsider. I’m not surprised that teenagers would hold onto a childish grudge like that. If they were adults, it would’ve been easier to understand the reality and how to move on from the experience.
