The manga is made to be read from vol to vol, like Berserk is recommended for reading in vols, both series share a build-setup for future events (cartastic).

Nice reflexive/transitive chapter.

That is how Graphic novels work...

Have you only read comic strips before? A little, i remember i was read french stories, when we read a volume we absorb a core and sub-core for a conclusion, being an ideal way to read any manga in fact, maybe mystery stories can follow the two ways between read weekly/monthly.

I just felt odd that you were stating something so obvious like its something of great importance.

Just a chapter for the author to proselytize about how war is bad, turning Thorfinn into his mouthpiece more than an actual character. In fact, a good encapsulation of this manga's decline in the second half in my eyes.

Like it or not, Thorfinn, Eyvar is right that you need to at least be prepared for the prospect of the natives being hostile. It's by no means guaranteed, but in not even accounting for it at all Thorfinn is utterly derelict in his duty as leader of the colony.

The hell are you talking about? Vinland Saga discussed war in such a way since day one. Thors much? Thorfin has been following in his footsteps. Of course Eyvar is right, but saying these things is completely in line with Thorfin as a character for the longest time now. Besides, this dialogue's main point is not how war is bad but how dangerous it is for people who hate war to be the ones in charge of it, like Canute. I'm surprised that's all you got out of it. Thorfin's world view is flawed and the series acknowledges that and has challenged his viewpoint before and I'm sure it's going to be challenged again soon, as this chapter seems to imply..
