It's pretty obvious that she's set up as a parallel to young Thorfinn having been driven almost insane and lost his human quality in his quest to avenge his father with Thorfinn being her Askeladd etc.

It's also obvious that her endeavour is not going to end in Thorfinn's death and we're supposed to be shown an alternative path for people caught up in the cycle of revenge and the suffering that accompanies it etc.



But I don't think Yukimura can satisfyingly tie up Hild's character arc, the way he's set it up but ultimately failed to deliver on any meaningful progress up until now makes me think that this will be resolved quite abruptly and ineffectively

As for the chapter itself, it was sort of funny seeing Gudrid being a bit insecure about her own skills compared to Hild's who is pretty talented. But picturing Hild and Thorfinn having a spark seems too wrong xD As expected, not everyone would agree with the "no weapon" policy. I'm interested in seeing how Thorfinn is going to deal with this issue. Hopefully, it won't escalate.no swords policy.



Throfinn views as 'weapons', tools that have been created purely for killing. Swords are not the only tools who fit in this criteria. Weapons such as halberds and maces are no different too. Axes might be an exception though due to gathering wood.
