Thorfinn's past comes back to haunt me and now he's gonna have to find a way to defeat her but without killing her. I think he's going to find that rather hard to accomplish.
for the record, I think she's bluffing. I don't think she poisoned the soup like she claims. Hurting all those innocents would be rather unnecessary if she planned on shooting Thorfinn with her crossbow. The other defending him with their bodies was unexpected.

Thorfinn will confront her and will either be too much for her because of skill or she will pussy out and not shoot him. They'll both drink the poison or maybe she was lying about the poison. She will realize that Thorfinn really isn't the same as he was years ago and maybe she will cry and he will console her and this will open up the gates to their potential romance.

I think she was lying, solely because they didn't leave her alone at the fire. They would notice if she tried to pour something in it. But, if Thorfinn gets to fight her, and loses somehow, a huge alarm will be played. Thorfinns already slower and rustier than before, him losing in a fistfight against a female hunter will be a testament to that. I'm really anxious to see if he can play Jesus with every adversary he finds. Like I said before, Gudrid is going to be captured by slave-traders and I just know it.
Also, your comment took an inexpected twist. Hild as Thorfinns love interest? I was practically assuming he would marry Guldrid since the historical Thorfinn did. But we'll see.
Hmm I didn't know there was a historical Thorfinn. I could see him marrying Guldrid but this huntress just makes it more unexpected to me.
