Zhou Zekai is a lonely ghost who tunnels from world to world to complete tasks issued by several wishers. He believed that once he completed one thousand tasks, he would be able to go back to the past and find his real self.

A deceived film empress, a child bullied in school, an unfaithful wife’s husband, an abducted college student sent into a mountain village…

Zhou Zekai met various wishers and changed many lives.

This is Zhou Zekai’s tale.

This is how the seemingly endless journey began.

I absolutely adore this novel! Despite a few minor flaws, I believe it stands out among the numerous world-hopping stories I've read. In my opinion, it ranks among the top. The storytelling was captivating, leaving me longing for far more chapters than the 1400 provided. It's important to note that it doesn't adhere to a strictly happy ending; there are open-ended (OE) and tragic (BE) conclusions as well, but compared to the HE, they are relatively rare (approximately a 10:3 ratio). Most of the open endings involve the female protagonist choosing to part ways or not pursue a relationship with the main character. Initially, the main character struggled with this, since his journey was centered around her. However, as he progresses through different worlds, he learns to accept that he can't always control her fate and becomes content with supporting her from afar, safeguarding her if needed. By about a third of the way through the arcs, open endings become less frequent. As for悲剧结局, I recall only one instance where the female lead took her own life, followed by the main character in sorrow.

The character's personality can be summarized as follows:

Childhood: Mischievous, with a businessman demeanor in stories, often displaying surface-level expressions.

    Teenage years:继续保持调皮性格,有时带有轻浮,故事中是看似精明地处理交易。

Adult life: Reflects their childhood behavior, portrayed as a genuine businessman, with relationships and interactions guided by gain and loss.

Regardless of their background, their approach to life is shallow, focusing on material success.

However, an alternate, frustrating (FML) personality emerges:

    1. Cold-hearted, manipulative, and toxic.
    2. Low emotional intelligence in women.
    3. There is no "normal" version of this FML personality.

The ending often disappoints, as while tasks are accomplished, villains rarely face consequences. They lead ordinary lives, believing they've done nothing wrong, even as they oppress others and continue to prosper in the previous world.

If you seek quick happiness or revenge, this might not be the story for you, as it tends to provoke anger and frustration. I'd suggest starting from Chapter 23, as the earlier parts might not align with your preferences.
