Reborn in a Civil War

I had been enveloped in the world of dreams throughout my existence, searching for meaning in the mundane nothingness of existence, when suddenly, my life ended in a bright flurry of fast-moving images. Something must have hit me; that was all my thoughts could process before the void took me. I regained consciousness in what I could only describe as limbo. My consciousness was fleeting and every moment I felt parts of me disintegrate. I attempted to gather my meagre understanding of all that I was and cocoon it inside a deep well of thoughts, but I felt my attempts were futile as slowly I lost who I was. As time, perhaps eons passed by, I saw it. I saw the light of a new reality emerge. I was reborn. Only this world held none of the security of my past life.
