The Magistrate of Xianyang County had twin daughters. When one was born, flowers bloomed and birds sang in homage. When the other was born, her maternal grandmother died and her paternal grandmother fell ill.

The "Lucky Star" elder sister was doted on from childhood, enjoying fine clothes and sumptuous food. The "Ill-Omen" sister wasn't even given a proper name; her father casually called her "Duoduo," meaning "superfluous," and that became her name.

When the Prince of Pingyang, paralyzed after a fall from his horse, returned to his fiefdom in Xianyang, he heard of the Lucky Star's fame and wished to adopt her. The Song family, looking down on him, sent the ill-omened Duoduo to the Prince instead. From that moment, the gears of their destinies began to turn.

Duoduo was timid and meek; the Prince of Pingyang was cold and suspicious. These two love-starved souls stumbled through their interactions. After Duoduo learned to read, she used the bullet comments only she could see to help the Prince overcome difficulties time and again. She even cured his legs. When she encountered her "Lucky Star" sister again, she repeatedly bested her. Furthermore, she helped the Prince uncover the culprit who had framed him and ultimately aided him in ascending to the imperial throne!

The Prince of Pingyang taught Duoduo principles, literacy, and various means of survival. Gradually, he realized that the clever, adorable, and considerate Duoduo had, at some point, become an inseparable part of his life.

Short Scene:

Duoduo: "Father, what does 'deceiving superiors and concealing truth from subordinates' mean?"

The Prince of Pingyang: "Investigate the estate manager immediately!"

The result: they uncovered an iron mine!

Duoduo: "Father, I will protect you!"

With a wave of Duoduo's hand, the bullet comments transformed into golden light and flew into the Prince's body.

The Prince of Pingyang: "Huh? How can I stand up?"

Duoduo: "Father, you said that only by becoming strong oneself can one break the rules."

The Prince of Pingyang: "Well said! I will become the strongest, to protect you for a lifetime!"
