Forensic pathologist Charlotte faces the corpse of a man brought into the autopsy room, and his wife, who also happens to be her friend.
To clear her friend, who’s been named the prime suspect, Charlotte visits the Metropolitan Police Department and meets the officer in charge, Henry.
