Today, I am a substitute for your fiancee. Tomorrow, I’ll become your sister-in-law!
Mu Mingtang is the substitute of the male lead’s first love. After she lost her family, she was adopted by the Jiang family and eventually became engaged to the male lead, the Prince of Jin.
Understanding very well that she was only a substitute, she removed her claws and fangs and turned herself into an imitation of the Prince of Jin’s first love. She couldn’t speak or laugh as she wished, she was prepared to live in the shadow of another woman for her entire life… until one day, the real Miss Jiang returned.
The real Miss Jiang was reborn. When she learned that she was the male lead’s first love, she immediately returned to fight for her engagement and identity.
In order to please his first love, the Prince of Jin gave the substitute to the Prince of Qiyang, who had become a dying madman. She was just a low-quality fake, anyway. If she dared to anger his first love, he would turn her into a childless and powerless widow for the rest of her life.
Mu Mingtang, the target of their mockery, finally snapped: Okay, since you gave me to another man, I’ll make you bow and call me sister-in-law!
However, none of them expected the Prince of Qiyang, the God of War, to actually wake up!

Xie Xuanchen is the son of the late emperor. The whole world once trembled beneath his feet, but one day, for a reason unknown to even Xie Xuanchen himself, his nature suddenly changed. He became cruel and bloodthirsty, leaving his father with no choice but to pass the throne to his uncle.
Eventually, Xie Xuanchen was unable to resist the illness and fell into a coma.
When he woke up again, there was a beauty standing before his bed, looking at him in surprise. Then, for the sake of his domineering little princess, he revived his name as the God of War, reclaimed the throne, and united the world.
I once captured the world to satisfy my own ambition. Now, you are the reason for my ambition.

Popular Reviews
Before I delve into this brief review, it's important to note that this is a one-shot. Consequently, the way I evaluate certain aspects of this one-shot will differ significantly from how I would assess a regular manga.
Story: 6/10
For a one-shot, the story was reasonably engaging. It effectively introduced the characters in a manner consistent with the story's atmosphere and allowed for reflective closure by the end. The fact that it is a one-shot enhances its quality; had it been longer, the narrative might have suffered.
I think the story aimed to illustrate that there are numerous ways individuals can develop romantic feelings. In the case of the protagonist, this development occurred through being assaulted in an abandoned building by a former sexual partner. While this is an undesirable method for most people, it successfully conveyed the intended message.
Art: 5/10
The artwork is adequate for a one-shot. There isn't much to highlight regarding the art style.
Character: 4/10
The main characters serve as tools to demonstrate the story's message. One is a somewhat lonely ordinary girl, while the other is a serial murderer and assailant. The supporting characters merely contribute additional thoughts to the female lead during her traumatic experience.
Enjoyment: 6/10
I must admit that I found this one-shot intriguing, at the very least. It surpassed my low expectations.
Overall: 5/10
I doubt I'll ever suggest this one-shot when recommending reading material to others. However, if you enjoy consuming virtually any content regardless of its quality, you might want to give this one-shot a try.
*May contain spoilers... sorry!*
The artwork wasn't great, and the story... it genuinely scared me. But let me clarify—I might be crazy, yet I did enjoy it.
"A girl has an intimate encounter with a man she met on a chatline. Later, she uncovers a dark secret about him and encounters him again under less-than-ideal circumstances. This is a brief one-shot that will leave you puzzled and craving more."
The last line from the paragraph above is absolutely accurate. Additionally, the final line in the manga, when she realizes her feelings for him, is incredibly touching: "There was no other man that made my heart flutter like that he did."
I thought it was ironic when she discovers he's *wanted*. They could have crafted a happier ending, but there really wasn't another choice for him.
(Hopefully, my thoughts make more sense once you've read the story.)
If you're part of a mature audience and just seeking something to occupy your time, I believe you should give it a try.
