<p>For being the hentai manga that it is, Take On Me surprisingly stands out as remarkably good. It's good enough to be read casually, boasting well-crafted character dialogue, engaging characters, and quite impressive art. In fact, Take On Me might have succeeded even without the overwhelming amount of sexual content. However, the one defining factor here is indeed the sex, and the issue may not just lie in the quantity but also in the nature of the acts depicted. When I say this manga is fetish-heavy, I mean it's densely packed with vividly illustrated and even more vividly described sexual scenarios that could easily make many people exclaim, "No, no, my god, what are they doing?" On the other hand, for someone like myself who has a more, let's say, "interesting" preference in pornography, this manga is rather refreshing. It's uncommon for me to find something that caters to my interests without crossing into the realms of monsters, blood, and other extreme elements. As far as hentai goes, this ranks up there with Shoujo Sect in terms of quality and enjoyability, and I would dare say it's among the best hentai manga available.</p>

Take On Me is a Hentai, Romantic, Comedy that presents a rather intriguing story focusing on the relationship between an unconventional couple. While the narrative can become somewhat chaotic at points, it ultimately ties together in the end.

The story spans two decently lengthy volumes, revolving around Tomonori Tsuda, a short and shy boy, who unexpectedly finds himself in a risqué relationship with Hikaru Ohno, a tall and assertive woman. The plot primarily tracks their journey as they develop a deeper connection with each other. Although classified as a Rom/Com, the comedy aspect plays a minimal role; however, the romance is executed fairly well. That said, the increasingly explicit nature of the manga occasionally overshadows the romantic elements. On the positive side, the storyline and its progression are commendable. Nevertheless, the narrative in Volume 2 feels disjointed, with some chapters either lacking relevance to the overall development or failing to transition smoothly until the latter half.

The main characters in this manga possess a certain appeal but share one common trait—they are all "extreme perverts." Beyond the primary duo, the supporting characters do receive their moments, though sometimes it seems insufficient.

For an h-manga, the artwork stands out as impeccable. The characters are skillfully illustrated, highlighting their defining features, and the background environments are also quite detailed. Given the nature of the genre, the sex scenes contribute significantly to this score, with panels crafted meticulously and arranged for easy readability—a significant advantage.

Overall, Take On Me mirrors a typical h-manga, with each chapter leading up to a sex scene. However, since it follows a continuous story, there's notable character development involved. There's plenty of content to satisfy fans of the genre, including a variety of fetishes and some quirky moments. Still, this type of material caters to a specific taste, making it a must-read for those inclined towards this style.

For the most part, this is a highly impressive erotic story.  

I want to be transparent with anyone considering this manga: it does feature fetishes, primarily involving peeing, and there are instances of non-consensual actions. There's even an entire chapter dedicated to a non-consensual event affecting one of the characters.  

If these elements seem like too much, then this isn't the right choice for you—and that's perfectly fine. At least you're aware upfront.  

That said, for a series centered around sex, I appreciate how nearly every sexual scene feels distinct. The author skillfully portrays the body in various positions with great energy.  

I adore the main characters: Oono, her sister, and Tsuda. They're incredibly endearing together, and their intimate moments in the early chapters stand out as some of the best. Their relationships and dynamics are fantastic, and even some of the side characters add interesting depth to certain parts of the story.  

However, I do feel the series crossed a line three times for me, and each instance came unexpectedly. These scenes either felt unnecessary or contradicted what the characters would realistically do.  

Despite that, I enjoyed the conclusion. It was fairly conventional but executed well, with engaging choreography. Most of the new characters and events introduced were enjoyable, though I acknowledge this manga won't appeal to everyone.

I'll add this to the shitlist for you! It sneaks in forced cuckoldry right at the end. If you were expecting the kinky romance it promised in the first 10 chapters, avoid it like the black plague.

The art is decent for such an old doujin, but the characters are one-dimensional. The main heroine was likable until she pushed for a MFM threesome.

The plot is overly simplistic. Villains act evil just because they're villains. There's a sequence where the main villain gets raped by another villain, and so on. It features typical twin trap boys and a standard old loli virgin setup. Nothing particularly noteworthy here.

The most acclaimed work by Sesshuu Takemura, and one that gained significant recognition in English due to its early translation in the 2000s. While it may not appear particularly "outstanding" now in terms of art or theme when compared to similar works, at the time of its translation, it did distinguish itself from other contemporary works in both aspects, which is why it received such special acknowledgment.

Starting with its theme, there's an intriguing dynamic: the protagonist couple consists of a tall, athletic girl and a short, studious boy. Their sole common trait is their perversion, leading them into a relationship exploring fetishes and interests. The approach is effective and well-developed, reaffirming their feelings while being open to new experiences. As this is a hentai manga, it has the freedom to explicitly depict what would be impossible in a traditional format.

It's not a treatise on sexuality or anything like that; rather, it features a theme encompassing all characters, that "perverted sexual" interest serving as an opportunity to showcase various fetishes and situations. This constitutes another strong point, as Sesshu puts effort into the variety of approaches and translates it into the artwork. Thanks to its publication over two decades ago, you can easily find it uncensored, enhancing both the drawing quality and enjoyment.

Beyond the sexual scenes, other diverse situations are presented, where Takemura demonstrates his skill and potential for a "traditional" manga, including some panels reminiscent of Spokon style and others akin to romantic comedy. However, his dedication shines brightest in the sequences dedicated to sex—his female character designs are exceptional, the illustrations vividly capturing expressions during intimate moments, and even when more characters are involved, the sense of what's happening remains clear.

There's no major flaw except perhaps devoting more narrative focus to the main couple regarding trust and exploration of their interests. Instead, during the second part, more characters are introduced merely to present new fetishes and possibilities. Although this aligns with the manga's primary intent, it's still regrettable that the story's foundation wasn't utilized to enrich its thematic ideas further.

Nevertheless, it does dedicate a great sequence bringing together all these mentioned points in a heartfelt declaration of love, which wouldn't have the same impact in a traditional manga due to necessary limitations. In its freedom to be pornographic, it reminds us that attraction within a couple also involves a sexual component of exploration, understanding, and enjoyment.
