Jiang Yingchu x Gu Xiuzhu

—What does it feel like when the opportunity you thought was a sure thing slips away?  

After Jiang Yingchu boldly confessed her feelings to Gu Xiuzhu, she wanted to flee.  

A few days later, as she walked through the school gate, someone suddenly pulled her into a secluded grove. With dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves, she leaned breathlessly against a tree.  

Gu Xiuzhu narrowed his eyes slightly as he approached her, a dark intensity in his gaze. He moved closer, his voice low and deep, “Do you like me?”  

Jiang Yingchu hesitated, too scared to answer.  

Gu Xiuzhu pinched her earlobe, his breath dangerously close, “Flirting and then running away?”  

“Not that easy, huh?” he pressed on, step by step.  

Later, rumors spread around the school that on a certain night, Senior Gu—normally aloof and reserved—was seen pinning the younger Jiang Yingchu against a wall and kissing her passionately. The sight of his strong possessiveness left people feeling uneasy.

One day after their marriage, someone asked Jiang Yingchu how Senior Gu handled her habit of flirting and then running off. She half-closed her eyes, recalling some recent moments together. Instinctively licking her lips in reminiscence, she replied to her friend with three words: “I can’t say.”  

—The heroine dares to flirt but can’t admit her feelings, while the hero is reserved yet intense. It’s a story of secret crushes, but very sweet.
