For so long, when I asked my father Doris Eagle, your grandfather, he always said that the war began with our ancestors and the grudge never wavered till this day. Eventually, I grew tired of dwelling on old grudges and a meaningless conflict with another clan. As time went on, I tried to appeal to the elders and my father to end this needless conflicts and to let go of the hate that causes harm.  No good came of it, my clan punished me for speaking out of turn and slandering the ancestors. 10 lashes by the whip the pain was unbearable. However, I still felt at peace from speaking my mind, and those lashes only served to strengthen my resolve to become stronger so that I could one day force my clan to change by force.
