I am a doctor, and after I became a zombie, I found that my face was paralyzed.

Actually, I didn’t want to block the zombies for my patient, but I accidentally stumbled and fell on him.

As for why I am conscious, it may be because I am handsome…

After all, compared to those A zombie that stinks and dries and still grows green hair, except that my skin is paler, my body temperature is a little lower, my pupils are a little discolored, and there are a few cyan veins on my neck, as long as I don’t say…

Actually I can still see that I am not a normal person.

I was able to determine that my stomach was not interested in humans.

However, my patient seems to smell delicious…

Rong Yun (smile): Be good, don’t bite anyone

Xiao Shenwei (face paralysis and rub hands): Okay, ah hoo~

I confess that I wrote this review without finishing the entire book, but since no one else has reviewed it, I just wanted to share my initial thoughts. So far, this novel is a real gem! It stands out from typical zombie apocalypse and BL (yaoi) stories. The main character (MC) is a smart and empathetic scientist who turns into a zombie. In a twist, while saving another character (ML), an elite alpha with military training, he becomes involved.

The comedy starts when the MC, despite being a zombie, tries to maintain his humanity by hoarding supplies and referring to a "Hamster Raising Guide." The dynamic between him and the ML is unique, with the MC calling himself a beta due to some unexplained traits, while the ML has a minty scent associated with alphas. The MC repeatedly saves the ML, rationalizing it as securing food resources, though it's clear he's still holding onto his human emotions.

There's a minor confusion regarding the MC's beta label, which seems more like an omega trait in the book. I'm hoping this might be clarified later in the story. My only critique is that aspect, but perhaps it's part of the book's intriguing world-building, which I haven't explored fully yet. I'll update my review once I complete the novel. For those seeking an apocalyptic romantic comedy with a touch of sarcasm and humorous misunderstandings due to the MC's zombie condition, this book is highly recommended!

This apocalypse romance with a blend of drama stands out among others I've read. It maintains a lighthearted tone, primarily focusing on the daily lives of the zombie main character (MC) and his love interest (ML), punctuated by occasional action and emotional moments. The supporting characters are memorable and endearing, and the author intentionally subverts typical ABO clichés, which I appreciate. The MC is a possessive zombie beta constantly craving, while the ML is a calm and serious alpha with self-control, thankfully avoiding the 'rapist alpha' stereotype.

The plot is straightforward: the MC becomes a zombie but retains unusual self-control due to an antibody, and the ML has a secret to prevent complete transformation. Though predictable, these elements play a significant role later on. The story revolves around their survival, adopting a wolf and a cat, and searching for a cure while exploring the city. Hunting scenes with the MC, a food enthusiast, and their friends provide a lighthearted touch. Despite the MC being quite overpowered as a zombie, his loss of humanity during battles adds tension.

At 63 chapters, the book doesn't drag or become monotonous like many longer ones with little substance. It strikes a balance and keeps the reader engaged. The author could have perhaps expanded the story further, but given its current form, it's enjoyable without major drawbacks.

Overall, thanks to its avoidance of annoying ABO tropes, likable characters, and a compelling storyline, this book is definitely worth a read.

This novel truly deserves its high ratings. It's an incredible read that encompasses a wide range of emotions. It has the power to elicit laughter, tears, sorrow, and joy, making for a deeply engaging experience. Both the main character (MC) and the leading male character (ML) are endearing, and readers can empathize with the challenges they face as a couple.

I wholeheartedly recommend this novel to anyone seeking a captivating and emotionally resonant story. The storytelling is exceptional, and I would love to see it adapted into a live-action drama or film that does justice to the beauty and depth of the original text.

"Unfortunately, I really wished to read more, but there were no additional content available. I can't hide the fact that I shed a few tears. There are moments in the story that deeply resonate with the heart - their emotions, helplessness, danger, and loneliness all contribute to an incredible tale. It's not without flaws, but I adore it. I would have loved it to be longer, perhaps with some extras after their wedding. Highly recommend this story!"

The book received a rating of 3.5 stars, but I encountered difficulty adjusting the rating. Here are my concerns:

    1. Inconsistency: The plot seems to contradict itself. If the main character (MC) is a zombie, it's hard to accept that they can engage in intimate actions without any repercussions typically associated with their nature.

    2. Lack of depth: The zombie character appears to have no inherent desire for human flesh, only exhibiting increased strength as their defining characteristic. This makes them feel underdeveloped; a more plausible explanation would be a strength-based superpower rather than a zombie.

Due to these issues, the story doesn't resonate with me as an authentic apocalyptic narrative, which is why I've decided not to finish it at this time.

The rating would fall somewhere around 3 to 4 stars. While the story has an enjoyable narrative, the translation quality is lacking. Initially, the first 24 chapters suffer from unpolished machine translation (MTL), whereas the subsequent chapters exhibit some improvement in readability.

The story has a lighthearted touch due to the amusing main character and quirky supporting characters, particularly the pets, making it somewhat endearing. However, it lacks depth and planning, with occasional illogical plot points and pacing issues. Timeframes can be inconsistent, with jumps from weeks to just five days without clear explanation.

A peculiar aspect is the existence of a potion preventing zombification after a bite, yet there's no mention of vaccines or antiviral measures. The story eventually introduces a cure, but it's confusing and underdeveloped. The focus seems to heavily lean towards a romance subplot, which detracts from the overall world-building.

In summary, it's an alright read, but with room for improvement in terms of translation and storytelling cohesion.

Honestly, I would have given it a 4.0, but the inconsistent portrayal of zombies really frustrated me and occasionally disrupted the flow. For instance, the character's inability to smile or show facial expressions is mentioned, yet in some instances, it's described as if their eyes were smiling or lips curving up - a contradiction within the same story. The zombie-kissing scene, despite the character being half-zombie, seems out of place due to the lack of clear僵尸特性设定. The virus concept also feels more like a joke – the timeline is confusing, with the main character being a doctor and meeting his love interest at a hospital, yet his age inconsistencies make it hard to believe.

Additionally, the fact that the MC became a surgeon at 18 during an apocalypse doesn't add up logically, especially if the zombification affects intelligence. The novel has its heartwarming moments, but these aren't enough to push my rating higher. There are more issues I could point out, but I'll leave it at that. If you're looking for a purely fluffy read, go ahead, but if you can't overlook these inconsistencies, perhaps consider exploring other novels.

I translated the entire story! Thank you so much to the translator for the rest of the chapters!

Spoiler alert: I adore this story – it combines apocalypse and the omegaverse theme! The heartwarming moments between the main character (MC) and the male lead (ML) are adorable. I especially love how MC's thoughts are portrayed. Remember when they encountered the Xuanwu, and Sister Qing excitedly popped its bubbles, only for MC to innocently ask if they were snot or farts? It disrupts the happiness, but it's hilarious too!

Though MC is a beta and ML is an alpha, I believe MC turned into an omega after becoming a zombie. Their connection feels fated; MC accidentally saved ML's life, which led to MC being bitten. I think it was during that antibody injection scene where MC's transformation occurred.

The ML's reassurance that MC is just sick, not a zombie, is so sweet. Initially, it's heartwarming, and you can sense ML's desperation to prevent MC from turning completely.

Ultimately, they got married, and life returned to normal, though the story seemed to abruptly end. Nonetheless, I absolutely loved it!
