Sorry. Dropped the fiction.

I must be known as the ultimate sore loser, who can\'t finish what he started.

And you know what? If you thought that then YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT!

Other than the reasons by the other comment, there is also the matter of sovereignty. In a single country divided into provinces, there is the King at the top and dukes serving each province, beginning the nobility hierarchy from there on, and the other comment applies. But consider an empire which has conquered different countries - some countries surrender without a war, and the existing king becomes a puppet sovereign with perhaps a duke as an ambassador, but in cases there is a war, the losing king and his family are ousted and most probably executed. Then the land may be given to a Duke to handle, making him effectively a king to that old nation - in such cases, at least for that country, he is royalty and therefore his children will be referred as prince/princess.

I've actually red the entire story, and I couldn't disagree with you more. I can't even begin to fathom how you could think Bai Yunfei was a coward. He is extremely brave to the point where he fights battles that're theoretically impossible for him to win and comes out on top because he was super lucky. In fact, he is so brave and lucky that the author had to conceptualize the Fate Pendent just to make it believable that he would continue to be lucky in his foolish bravado. My issues with the story are things like how no Human has been in the Tomb of the Beast Emperors for over a 1000 years, but then once Bai Yunfei goes in, suddenly everyone and their bother - that's not even an exaggeration, quite literally - becomes a Soul Emperor right after him by also secretly entering the tomb with their own Soul Beast Contractor and receiving a sacred inheritance. Soul Emperors and Soul Saints becomes as common as a head of cabbage as soon as he gets to that level himself, at the expense of retconning the background story, even. If becoming a Soul Emperor is so damn easy, why does the genius and talented main character require a special method to break through? My main issues are with the author forsaking logic just to progress the story more easily.
