It's just a matter of preference; I never found Ting Shuang annoying. Their contrasting personalities actually complement each other beautifully.

The MC's younger brother was a sad figure, but he wasn't to blame. Despite his occasional foolishness, I hope he finds happiness. The ex-boyfriend was a disappointing character; his cheating and attempt to reconcile afterward showed a lack of respect. The MC's strength in ending a 17-year relationship based on mutual respect is inspiring.
