When the apocalypse arrived, zombies swept across the globe. Humanity’s survival was gravely threatened, and the world became a vast hunting ground ruled by the undead.
Xin Tan believed she was fortunate because she had become a zombie. Xin Tan also believed she was unfortunate, because she still possessed the memories and consciousness of a human being.
Every day after that was shrouded in dull, gray gloom. She was no longer Xin Tan—she was a zombie, a walking corpse.
Until one day, Qi Can appeared, and she began to live again.

After finally finding his long-lost girlfriend, Qi Can discovered that Xin Tan hardly responded to him and even refused the food he offered her.
He had heard that humans would lose their memories after becoming zombies. So, Qi Can cleaned her up thoroughly, dressed her in the prettiest clothes, let her drink the cleanest water, and fed her the most delicious food, all while hoping that one day Xin Tan would remember him.
Not only that, Qi Can would talk to Xin Tan every day about their sweet past, saying all sorts of things, including but not limited to:
“Babe, you were the one who chased after me first, remember?”
Xin Tan couldn’t bear it anymore. Relying on her zombie instincts, she lunged forward and bit down on the scarf around Qi Can’s neck. Her voice came out hoarse: “Who chased whom?”
Qi Can: “…”

After their reunion, Xin Tan did not want to drag Qi Can down with her. He should have gone to the safety base instead of wandering the outside world with her—living rough, starving, and exposed to danger.
She constantly thought about leaving Qi Can, until one day, she truly slipped out of his sight.
Suddenly, Xin Tan felt panic rising in her chest. But Qi Can was waiting for her ahead on the path. She stood still for a long time, unable to move. Then Qi Can ran toward her in long strides, pulled her into his arms, and pleaded softly, “Tan Tan, don’t go.”
