What if the final boss became the main character's companion?

Nah, its bad... If you've read dozens of martial arts novel then you can predict whag would happen in the next chapter, 'save the damsel in distress' then get into trouble, save this, save that, someone causing trouble then u get into trouble then thr bad guy swore that he'll get revenge, save the lady, normal plot trope aint interesting

So far the story is quite confusing, i don't think it's only on the matter of translation but more to the how it written originally. Most of all the story flow is unsubtle and again confusing.
But the main plot is quite interesting though mostly I found it unsatisfying. However I still found myself reading it further so I guess it worth to try and read.

Are they all connected or are they just stand-alone novels grouped together?
