[Era Setting + Arranged Marriage to Love + Retired Military Bigshot + Flirtatious Female Lead + Straightforward “Steel” Male Lead + Both Pure]
The story begins in a rural setting and later moves into life within a military compound.
Yu Qiaoqiao, a genius doctor of traditional Chinese medicine in the 21st century who helped bring TCM to the global stage, is thrown back in time to the 1970s after a car accident.
Unfortunately, she starts off with a terrible hand.
She has a bad temper, a troublesome family, and the educated youth she painstakingly pursued turns out to be a two-timing scumbag.
For the sake of a modest bride price, her family “sells” her off to a disabled veteran in the village who couldn’t find a wife. Well, marriage it is—at least soldiers come with subsidies.
At first, she can’t help but drool over her husband’s handsome face and great physique, but he always keeps a stern expression and tells her, “It’s not appropriate.”
However, after she uses her exceptional medical skills to heal his disability, she gradually realizes something isn’t quite right.
When she wants to attend classes—
He waits at the school gate: “Wife, come home.”
When she wants to work—
He looks at her expectantly: “Wife, come home.”
When she wants to deal with scumbags—
He protectively steps in: “Wife, you go home. I’ll handle it.”
As for what happens after going home… well, that’s something best left unsaid between adults.
Wasn’t he supposed to be abstinent?
Wasn’t he the kind of man who kept his distance from women—a rigid, straight-laced soldier…?
