True, she might have an excessively doting and adoring male lead, but her strength lies within herself. As for the pseudo-sibling love story, its reception can be hit or miss. With a more reserved female lead, the age gap and the older brother dynamic might not sit well. But in this specific narrative, our heroine knows exactly what she desires, and I'm thrilled to see her get both her cake and eat it too.
What I appreciated were the characters' frankness, honesty, and boldness, which added depth to the story. The theme of second chances, where none were squandered, was particularly moving. Furthermore, the supporting characters had their own distinct narratives, enriching the overall plot.
Everytime their flirtation was described, it felt like a choking sensation for me, an unpleasant mix of bile and discomfort. It's hard not to wonder if her feelings towards him extended from her previous life. Despite giving the book only one-star, it keeps automatically showing a higher rating of two stars, which is quite frustrating.
Even after all these years since finishing it, I occasionally bring up my disdain for the book to friends. As I typed this review, I realized my stomach was cramping, which made me consider, if reincarnation were real and I ended up in this world, I'd quickly choose to opt out – it's just not a place I'd want to be.
Frankly, I didn't think much of any aspect of the novel, even disregarding the disturbing elements. My reason for finishing it was to understand why others praised it, but I never could. I'd advise others to save their time and explore other options. Skip this one; no hard feelings towards the translator, just the novel and its characters.
"I was captivated by the depth of emotions portrayed in the story, particularly the strong yet resilient character of the main protagonist. The subtle sweetness at the beginning gradually transformed into a more intense journey, which kept me hooked. At times, I found myself almost physically invested, wanting to step in and take matters into my own hands, like with Miao Qi!"
"In recent months, I've been hesitant to commit to many light novels due to poor explanations, excessive padding, or simply not finding the right fit. However, this book stood out – I couldn't put it down and couldn't wait to see how it concluded. It exceeded my expectations and provided a satisfying ending."
"I highly recommend giving it a read. This novel's的魅力 is undeniable and has the power to draw readers in. Although not a professional reviewer, I felt compelled to share my positive experience and boost its star rating, hoping to bring attention to its brilliance."

A modern-era transplant of 25 years, unaware of basic gender norms, seems implausible. It's hard to believe a wealthy, modern-day heiress is portrayed as noble but illiterate. The female lead, though cunning, skillfully manipulates her brother, gradually winning his affection.
Another flaw lies in the迷信 plot, where characters' fates are determined by a monk's divination. While it may seem compelling, the protagonist appears to exploit the villain's misfortune, turning the tables in her favor. The villain's selfish nature is evident, reducing her to a joke.
The male lead, though strong and wise, demonstrates limited emotional intelligence when it comes to the heroine. Initially, he finds solace in her care, especially given her broken legs and his family's burden. He neglects his duties in search of her biological sister, allowing the narrative to develop around the antagonist Shen Miao Qi, ultimately shaping a negative image of her and propelling Yu Xiang's growth.
The hero, enchanted by his "sister," struggles to maintain boundaries, particularly in an ancient setting, making his actions comical. In summary, the author fails to provide coherent reasoning for the protagonist's actions, portraying the hero as foolish rather than intelligent.
