“You’re the older sister — just let it go. Can’t you do even that for her?”
Irene has always been living in the shadow of her ill and frail sister, Riel. She believed that she could and had to do everything for her family… until Riel stole everything from her.
After realizing that there is no place for her in her home, and that she was never loved by her family, Irene decides to do her utmost to become independent, and in doing so, crosses paths with Noel Kristen, a man who has been subjected to a much similar fate…
“We may be able to save each other.”

I have a deep affection for the female lead, FL. Despite what some might say about her being perceived as weak due to occasional tears (which is a misunderstanding, as she has endured a lot), I find her strength in resilience to be admirable. It's refreshing to see a FL who doesn't need a second chance to rectify her past; sometimes, seeing her confront problems head-on without needing to go back in time for revenge is a pleasant change.
While there were a few minor flaws, they don't detract significantly from the overall story. It's a book that, despite imperfections, still resonates with me."
I can wholeheartedly cheer for the MC and empathize with her challenges, especially since I've experienced similar treatment with my cousins, not siblings. I highly recommend this novel to anyone willing to give it a chance, even though I'm only on chapter 33. It's already a hidden gem, and I'm confident it will be a 10/10 once I finish it. In fact, I anticipate rereading it, making it a top priority on my reading list.
