After a car accident, modern wealthy heiress Jiang Lizhu transmigrates into the world of two interconnected 1970s novels.

In the first novel about swapped daughters, she is the vicious true daughter who constantly schemes against the fake daughter heroine. In the second novel, a stepmother story, her fate is even worse. She only exists as background information because she has already died three years before the story begins.

According to the plot, Jiang Lizhu desperately returns to her biological family in the city, but her good life quickly collapses. Her professor father is reported and sent down to the countryside, her doctor mother remarries and leaves, and her researcher brother disappears from contact.

Left with nothing, she schemes to marry the visiting soldier Gu Mingyan. After marriage she refuses to follow him to the army and stubbornly remains in the city. Consumed by jealousy, she repeatedly targets the fake daughter heroine and even attempts to seduce her husband’s superior. Each attempt ends in humiliation as the protagonists expose and suppress her.

She eventually loses everything. Her family, her job, and her reputation. When her five-year-old son is kidnapped outside their home, she collapses in despair and ultimately drowns.

But Jiang Lizhu does not arrive after all this tragedy.

She transmigrates into the moment when the original owner is in labor, hovering between life and death as doctors prepare to switch from natural birth to a cesarean section.

After narrowly surviving and giving birth to her son, Jiang Lizhu immediately begins changing her fate. The first thing she does after her confinement month is sell her city job.

This time she will take her child and follow the army.

She has no interest in playing the role of a vicious supporting character or a disposable background figure. Anyone who threatens her and her son’s survival will be dealt with.

Meanwhile, Gu Mingyan, who joined the army at fourteen and married at twenty-four, has always devoted his life to the military. Marriage never seemed to change anything for him.

Until one day he receives a telegram from his wife.

It tells him that he has a son, a son who is almost one hundred days old.

And he might be the last person in the world to find out.
