When 7-year-old João attended a banquet, he saw the exquisitely dressed Chrisman. “Father! Don’t you think she’s even prettier than a doll?” João pointed at Chrisman, behaving wildly, his tone full of determination. He showed a strange, wide smile, and when he looked at his father, it seemed almost mad.
The next day, Chrisman was brought to João’s side. At 17, João understood love and desire. He forcefully took Chrisman along on their arduous, intertwined path. To João, Chrisman was the light in his world. Once this demon João grew greedy for that light, he would hold her tightly in his hands, even if it meant breaking himself to pieces.
At 20, Chrisman said, “João, as you wished, I’ve long been spoiled by you. I’ve tried to escape, but now I’m yours. Take me to see the world from now on. Let’s be happy together.”
