What happens when the hero of your story doesn’t even know you exist?

Ian Winterbell was once the older brother of the kingdom’s brightest star, Allen Winterbell. Burdened by jealousy and resentment, Ian betrayed his family, only to watch Allen sacrifice everything to save him. Wracked with guilt, Ian made a desperate deal with the Goddess of Fate, Theoarize, to turn back time.

Now reborn in the past as a commoner, Ian no longer exists in the Winterbell family. To Allen, he’s a stranger. To the world, he’s nobody. But Ian remembers everything—his brother’s kindness, his sacrifice, and the burden of a hero who stood alone.

At the academy, Ian just wants to lay low, but that’s easier said than done. When he effortlessly takes down terrorists without breaking a sweat, people start asking questions. How does a “normal” student know so much about killing? Why is he so calm in the face of danger? Rumors spread fast: some think he’s a spy, others say he’s the Empire’s secret weapon, and a few are convinced he’s the boss of the underworld.

Ian doesn’t care what they think—he only cares about keeping Allen safe. But as he uncovers the dark secrets hiding in the Empire, Ian realizes protecting Allen might mean becoming the villain everyone already believes he is.

"The world doesn’t need to love me, and I don’t need its mercy. All I want is for my brother to have the future he deserves."- Ian Winterbell.

First 400 or so chapters are pretty good. The story focuses on business, as the MC develops his tourist attraction and food company with the help of his cheat and builds his social network among high society and other useful acquaintances. It may be because I don't read this type of stories often, but I found the story quite engaging. There were few major translation problems. Then, at around ch 430, the translator changes into one who does barely edited MTL and has zero regard for consistency when it comes to names. The MC's wife especially has like 5 or 6 different names. It's still understandable, but it's not fun to read. What's worse is that the story is becoming political and the old nationalism/supremacism problem that plagues most Chinese novels set in the real world raises it's ugly head. Early on, there are a few incidents that gave me a good impression of the author/MC, they seemed to treat foreigners fairly and even subtly criticise Chinese racists. At most there was "positive nationalism

there will always be plot armor in stories but the bad start that introduced the plot armor and then added more plot armor right away just made it worst let start with the make me a god wish (but what powers does that bring) is this fantasy or historical fiction, then we have knowledge of all things wish ( that is so vague and overpowered for a god that supposedly lost) what year did he die is important information i might of missed it not sure does he literally know everything?? hypnotism?! that is horrible plot armor for these type of novels you might as well just skipped to hes 12 if you want to deal with personality of maturity changes. all of this is my opinion and i can see you put alot of effort into the story by the number of chapters written and i want to tough it out till atleast chapter 20 but the first 5 chapters have just turned me off and the im a god thing partnered with the hypnotism is too much.

An incredible story that is so historically accurate, I can't help but applaud the author. It is also humbling to read this story as it inspires me to be a better writer. Think about it: this story has a lot of historical facts and explanations and yet I, someone who passed my history test with a below average score, was drawn in. It never felt cluttered or boring and was rather engaging, a testament to not only how good the author is in writing, but how much effort he put in to make this compelling story. The characters are also well done and fleshed out and the action scenes are also great. Antonius is a character I can get behind; he is scheming but has a sense of honor. Abdullah is another character that I admired; I thought he would be one of those arrogant characters in webnovels that are there just for face slapping but was pleasantly surprised when I found him to be just as smart as Antonius. Grammar is also well done, just a few errors here and there but they hardly affect the story. As I mention in my reviews, there are stories with horrendous grammatical errors that are more popular than these hidden gems and make no mistake, this is a hidden gem.

Interesting concept, but poorly executed.  The first major problem is the limits of the narrative editing.  Starting out with some sort of unlimited blank check to edit his own talent and potential, the author goes way overboard and rarely uses the narrative editing cheat.  Instead the MC goes and reads peoples narratives to steel their opportunities.  So the flaws that I see is that the author should have removed the limits on number but instead made much stricter limits on how much a single edit could accomplish.  I really dislike when an author names their story about a gimmick and than quickly drops the gimmick.
