Back in 1996, the eldest daughter of Oldman Xie’s Family, Xie Wanying, said that she wanted to be a surgeon, to which many people laughed at her .

“ A Phoenix gives birth to a phoenix. And a dog gives birth to a dog. A truck driver’s daughter will be a doctor, when pigs learn how to climb trees. ”

“I’m not just going to be a doctor, I’m going to be a cardiothoracic surgeon,”Xie Wanying said.

Her sentence created a thousand waves in the medical circle. A relative doctor of their family even ridiculed her sternly and said: “Do you know how high the admission score for medical students is? Can you even pass the exam?”

“There are zero female cardiothoracic surgeons in the country, if the top female doctors could not make it that far who do you think you are!”

A group of people ridiculed: “You will only get admitted to a third-rate medical school and be a hygienist in a small county. Who will you marry in the future? ”

But she proved them wrong, at the end of the college entrance examination, Xie Wanying entered the top class of surgery in the country with the province’s top prize in science. She entered the top hospital in the capital and was sought after by the director of the surgical departments while she was still an intern. “Student Xie Wanying, you must come to general surgery.”

“No, you must go to our urology—”

“Pediatric surgery lacks female doctors like Xie Wanying.”

All her relatives Wechat moments:……….

At this time, Xie Wanying independently completed the national youngest tetralogy of Fallot surgery, represented the domestic cardio-thoracic surgery association to participate in the international medical forum, and published the world’s first minimally invasive heart valve repair operation, which was a worthy feat considering she was the top female surgeon!

Finally, a refreshing novel with well-developed and intelligent characters! I'm thoroughly enjoying the read, although it's ongoing. The romantic aspect is one-sided due to the female lead's obliviousness, but I admire the male lead's patience. It's nice to have a stable partner, hehe. The characters are理智,not completely predictable, and while some supporting characters can be exasperating, they add realism. The plot keeps me engaged, especially as I look forward to seeing Xie Wanying's growth as a doctor. I love how she embodies the message that women can excel in any field.

The narrative held some intrigue, although it wasn't my favorite type. The concept of a doctor and medical setting was indeed captivating, but the main character (MC) felt robotic and overly idealized, lacking depth. It's amusing how the book attempts to address sexism by featuring a female protagonist in medicine, yet struggles to present other women authentically, aside from the MC's mother.

The portrayal of female characters as villains solely because they're opposing the MC seems forced and misguided. Focusing on gender over character development isn't effective. While gender may influence behavior, it doesn't define a person. Characters should be shaped by their environment, experiences, and personalities, not just their gender.

The author's understanding of women and empowerment seems lacking. Although it's commendable to have strong female figures, the MC's mother garners more respect due to her genuine strength, compassion, and resilience. She supports her daughter, perseveres through adversity, and stands up for what she believes in. Her character is multi-dimensional and powerful, not just because of her gender.

In conclusion, while the medical and romantic aspects of the story could have been more engaging, the constant emphasis on women's empowerment detracts from the overall narrative. A more balanced approach, focusing on character growth and relationships without the frequent reminders of gender issues, would have made for a more compelling read.

I truly adore this novel! It delves into numerous medical terms with meticulous explanations, which I imagine required significant effort from the author. This serves as an invaluable resource for those without a medical background, making complex terminology more accessible. The story primarily revolves around Xwy's compelling medical journey, complemented by a subtle romantic subplot. Despite her initial denseness, Xwy's high emotional intelligence shines through her strong relationships with teachers, seniors, and patients.CY is a standout character, his unwavering patience and constant support as a caring and dependable senior make him endearing.

However, what detracts is the ongoing nature of the narrative and its slower pacing. I find myself wanting more frequent updates to satiate my interest. If you have any recommendations for similar stories that balance depth and engaging characters at a steady pace, please do share!

Alright, I'd classify this as a typical cliche novel, with less emphasis on romance and straightforward conflicts compared to others. The main character (MC) is portrayed as a brilliant medical student, but that's pretty much it. Her personality remains one-dimensional, lacking any distinct traits beyond the generic archetype.

The narrative structure has three main patterns: the MC saves someone's life through her medical expertise, engages in random encounters with the male lead (ML), and deals with others who doubt her abilities, eventually witnessing her remarkable medical feats. The focus on romance isn't overwhelming, which is a positive aspect, but the repetitive nature of these storylines makes it feel stagnant without clear direction.

My initial anticipation was for a story about a relatable female character overcoming obstacles, dedicating herself to medicine, and ultimately achieving success, proving her detractors wrong and finding happiness with an amazing partner. However, the story instead revolves around the MC's constant display of her medical prowess, with little to no personal growth or medical challenges. The conflicts mainly revolve around interpersonal relationships rather than the actual practice of medicine, which is disappointing.

I must admit that the story description led me to believe in a different kind of narrative, focusing more on the protagonist's journey of learning and growth. As it stands, the story feels like a missed opportunity to explore the depths of a character's medical journey, leaving me somewhat let down.

A prevalent theme in Chinese novels, particularly wuxia and xianxia genres, is the "godly physician." These characters possess incredible diagnostic skills, can prescribe accurate remedies, create potent medicines, heal instantaneously, detoxify poisons, and even administer fatal doses to save lives. However, these depictions often stem from untrained authors or outdated medical concepts.

The true value of this particular novel lies in its contemporary, scientifically grounded portrayal of the "godly physician" within the framework of Western medicine. The story follows Xie Wanying, a female doctor who, due to circumstances, graduates from a second-rate medical school and works at a rural tertiary hospital. Initially working as a pathologist, she has a life-changing regret for not pursuing a clinical career.

When time travel takes her back to the moment before her college entrance exams, she resolves to excel, aiming for top medical schools and prestigious hospitals to alter her fate. Here are some advantages she gains through regression:

    1. Enhanced Knowledge and Experience: With seven years of prior education and practical experience, she has twice the time and knowledge compared to an average medical student. Her extensive background in medicine allows her to excel in multiple specialist fields simultaneously.

    2. Perfect Learning: Though not a photographic memory, Xie retains a remarkable ability to recall vast amounts of medical information and can even assimilate surgical skills by observation.

    3. Supercomputer-like Brain: Her mind can simulate a 3D model of any person's anatomy, allowing her to analyze health issues, identify diseases, and devise optimal treatments based on sensory inputs.

    4. Future Insights: As she's transported back 25 years, she possesses knowledge of advancements in medicine and technology that will occur over the next two decades. This gives her a significant advantage in diagnosing and treating illnesses.

The story itself is decent, focusing on Xie's impressive feats that continually astonish others. Romance is present but minimal, with a well-rounded male lead who supports her without being overly possessive or creepy.

The author seems to have a solid understanding of the medical field, evident in the intricate details and realistic depictions of various diseases, treatments, and industry insights. While some readers might find sections discussing medical conditions and treatments dull, these segments offer valuable lessons about health, disease, and navigating the healthcare system.

In conclusion, despite its sci-fi elements, this novel is a must-read for everyone, as it delves into the complexities of health and medicine in a relatable and accessible manner. Regardless of age, profession, gender, or reading preferences, the insights provided can enrich one's understanding of these crucial aspects of life.
