Review after reading 400+ chaptersAh... I don't even know where to begin. Let's start with the r×pe issue. ML deserves hell for violating MC. Being drunk or drugged, blah blab blah is never an excuse to commit r×pe. R×pe is r×pe. Don't justify the reasons behind it. MC's feelings of hate for ML is justified. That r×pe incident happened when she was only 18 which is still pretty young and she's still a student. It's understandable that she hated ML for it.Fast forward, five yrs have passed. MC's family company, the song empire is on the brink of destruction, her brother committed suicide and her father was hospitalized. With so many issues piling on MC, she went to ML by request of her dad to ask if ML can act as the acting CEO of their company to save it and thus began MC's one month of persistent pleading and begging to get ML's help.ML, rejects her countless of times until MC has finally had it and gave up. I don't blame her. Being humiliated, ignored and being on the receiving end of many harsh words is enough to crush a girl's spirit. Adding the fact that MC doesn't really want to beg ML and still hates him for what happened. ML throws in a contract at the last limit which lasts 100 days. Thus begins round two of many long episodes of angst and drama where ML sacrifices himself countless of times to save MC while hiding the fact that it was he who helped her.ML also has a superpower that he often uses on MC. It's creepy how he always listens in on her but the guy's dedication can really surprise people. He slapped a girl for MC. Saved MC from drowning. Saved MC from being stabbed. He ignored traffic rules for MC to get to her. He buys MC gifts every holidays but it never reaches her because he's too insecure and thinks she won't want anything from him. He also saved MC when she got kidnapped and MC's own heart nearly stopped twice when it happened. Still, ML does not tell MC and puts up a show with his secretary so MC would hate him since he cannot love her. ML thinks they're siblings from the same father which makes it ******...Good news. Falls alarm. They aren't  siblings. And thus begins another round of long angsty drama....Honestly, the novel is pretty good but the authors tends to drag things out and exaggerate. The other characters don't get as much background and there are a lot of plot holes like why does ML not hire bodyguards around when MC's life is in danger? I mean, he's a CEO that had 'caused innumerable legends in the business world'. With so much money in his hands, why did it never crossed his mind to hire a bodyguard for her?And did he ever thought of hiring a detective to look for the people after MC? No, he informs the police anonymously and leaves it be as the case will solve itself.And MC is really like a doormat infront of the Tang girl. She rarely retaliates and it's all for that Qin boy that she's love for 20+ years. I understand that she doesn't want to hurt the person she loves by revealing the Tang girl's white lotus act but come on, the sun, moon, stars, and the truth are things that can never be hidden.The Qin boy eventually found out.And thus, another long episode of long angsty drama begins....Honestly, I want to skip and check other chapters by now...I'm not sure if I want to continue this mess. I might update later if I managed to finish it.Also, the thing that really kept me going was actually ML's dedication and stupidity to protect MC no matter the cost and his need to keep it a secret...Ugh..I need time to sort this out. This story is a mess.
