Seventeen-year-old Elias' world has been unraveling for over a year. His mother, bedridden from a mysterious illness, is fading away, while his father sinks deeper into alcoholism, lashing out at Elias in his frustration. Once a social butterfly, Elias now drifts through life in a quiet haze, escaping the suffocating tension of home by spending his nights walking the streets of his small town.
After a particularly tense encounter with his father, Elias is sent out to pick up more beer and his mother’s medication. As he makes his way back home, a shadow flickers at the edge of a nearby park, drawing his attention. At first, Elias brushes it off as a trick of the mind, but the shadow beckons, and something compels him to investigate.
What Elias finds is more than just a passing figment—it’s the start of something far more profound. Pulled deeper into the mysterious park, he stumbles upon an ancient, dust-covered book hidden beneath a tree. The book is written in a strange language, but when Elias opens it, the words shift and morph into English. The text speaks of gods, celestial forces, and a cosmic rift threatening to tear reality apart. As he reads, Elias is drawn into a world he never knew existed, one filled with magic, shadows, and ancient beings.
It is here that he meets Hecate, the goddess of magic and shadows. She offers Elias a deal: become her champion, representing the sign of Scorpio, and help close the Celestial Rift that threatens the mortal world. In return, she will cure his mother of the illness that has kept her bedridden. Desperate and without options, Elias agrees, stepping into a larger world fraught with danger and power beyond his understanding.
Now, Elias must journey across realms to gather the Celestial Seals, powerful artifacts needed to close the Rift. Along the way, he discovers that he is not alone—11 other champions, each chosen by a god to represent a zodiac sign, are also racing to prevent the Rift’s destruction. Together, they must fight off dark forces that seek to plunge the world into chaos.
But as Elias delves deeper into his role as Hecate’s champion, the shadows he commands begin to consume him. Struggling with his own darkness, Elias must learn to balance the power he’s been given, while uncovering the secrets that lie within the Celestial Rift itself.
With each decision weighing on his soul, Elias must confront his past, control the shadows, and determine how far he’s willing to go to save the ones he loves. But in the end, will the darkness inside him be his greatest ally—or his undoing?

I enjoyed the novel, but the harem started getting out of hand. When it gets to the point where I can't remember who each of the girls is anymore, that's where I draw the line lol. And one of the girls I really didn't like. She just blatantly seduced mc to use him even though her backstory was she was a supposedly pure girl. Other than that, mc was super op and his power was interesting and used well. I enjoyed his fast increases in power and he did a good job of effectively using it. Only thing I would complain about is some of the gear stats at the start seemed a bit imbalanced compared to how they actually were used. Dropped on ch276 because of harem getting out of hand.0 0 Reply

No wait. I read that wrong right? Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. My god this is a new low. for those that are curious why people are screaming racism and nationalism isn’t because the author shows favorites. No no no... the author states that Not only does the Earth he has in his Dantian have only Chinese, the author states that the MC wishes he couldndestroy the countries and empires he doesn’t like. Yet, this is a novel. Which means it’s written by an AUTHOR. The only country and people that exist within his EARTH are CHINESE. Which implies one thing: The countries and empires he wishes he could destroy? The author already did. He completely removed EVERY other culture of Earth. Which means the author isn’t just racist. He is a physco. This... is just not okay. Especially how the FOLLOWING paragraph when the MC’s inner thoughts state that it’s good because no one else besides the Chinese would understand cultivation anyway. I find that worse than the wishful genoci*e. We are readers. I am a reader. Who LOVES eastern fantasy. I like it because it is much more detailed than Magic. I have read dozens of eastern fantasy novels. With how much I have read of eastern fantasy, I might sadly be able to say I know more about Buddhism and Daosim than my own religion. I am American. I was belittled by the Author. Qidian, this one should have been flagged.0 0 Reply

I suffered through three chapters of this before skipping to later chapters to see if the MC gets any smarter. The answer is no, he does not. He’s a compete idiot. Some idiot MCs are likeable, but this one is not. Reading this is an exercise in frustratipn. I recommend not wasting your time on this one.0 0 Reply
