With a father as strong as the highest heavens themselves, Gravis wasn't required to step into the cold and ruthless world of cultivation.
But when Heaven used him in a scheme to get back at his father, Gravis realized that he needed strength to gain true freedom.
As long as he remained his weak self, he would always remain beneath Heaven’s oppression. Only true power brings true freedom.
To gain strength, Gravis ventured into the lower worlds to start his cultivation under true life and death tempering.
Only a strong will, which had been forged in striving for every resource available, would allow him to reach the peak.
Heaven’s strongest weapon was Lightning of Divine Punishment, and only if he made this weapon his, would he have a chance.
So, to overthrow Heaven,
Lightning Is the Only Way!
Yet, the path to power is painful.
Not everyone reaches the peak.
But Gravis will!
No matter how much pain he feels along the way!

Welcome to my book!
I thank everyone for reading my work, even if you don't like it.
I have read a LOT of webnovels, many of them translated from chinese. I have seen a lot of commonly used tropes, and as a change of pace, I wanted to create something different.
There will be nearly no "Young Masters". Only a very select few. (The absence of at least one idiot is just as bad as overfilling)
There will be no "I must save (the Honor of) my Family!"
There will be no "Heaven sent lucky chances". Heaven controls luck, and Heaven does not like the MC, at all.
I also want to show a real change in Gravis' personality as time goes by. He won't always be a wimp. He won't always be a cold-hearted killing machine. Just as emotions change, people change with them.
This is a lot to live up to, but I'll do my best.
Updates will be 2 chapters per day.
I have a backlog, so updates will be constant.
Thank you all for reading!
.
The cringe part might be the romance near the end of the novel but that's it. It's not even cringe actually, some ppl just can't stand Romance.
.
The MC is a bit of a hypocrite on a certain arc, but that also changes once some serious issues are resolved.
.
Other than that, you should totally read LITOW.
.
Btw, between the author's 3 novels, you could say that Gravis is the only true Main Character, it's literally like Klein in LOTM, they're from a different novel, still in the same world, but there's only 1 actual MC.
He has 3 so just curious
The story likely follows a protagonist who, much like a bolt of lightning, confronts the status quo, illuminating the dark corners of their world. Through a series of challenges and revelations, the character learns that honesty, resilience, and embracing the unexpected can be the catalyst for change. This narrative explores themes of personal growth, the struggle for identity, and the importance of authenticity in an often conformity-driven society.
The author's writing style might weave a tapestry of vivid imagery, drawing readers into the emotional journeys of the characters. Each character's experiences resonate with universal truths, allowing readers to relate and reflect on their own lives. The novel might also delve into philosophical discussions, encouraging readers to question their beliefs and consider alternative perspectives.
Ultimately, "Lightning Is the Only Way" is a compelling read that leaves a lasting impact, reminding us all that sometimes, the boldest path – the one filled with uncertainty and risk – can lead to the brightest illumination of our true selves. It's a call to action, urging us to embrace our inner lightning and illuminate the world around us.
