Leveling with the Gods

It's really unfortunate. I rather enjoy this book, but it's only completed 71 out of more than 600 chapters. I'd be willing to pay handsomely for daily translations.

The rating would have been 4.5, but I bumped it up to 5 because it's one of my all-time favorites among op MC tower leveling novels, and it even has an excellent manga adaptation! While it does incorporate familiar elements from other books in the genre, the execution is commendable. It's like junk food with added nutrition, a guilty pleasure. The character's regression journey, rebuilding connections, and paying off past debts resonated with me, especially his bond with SWK.

The story begins straightforward but gradually becomes more intricate, without losing readability. It follows a typical Korean novel progression, where each arc reveals more lore, which suits my preferences just fine.

Perhaps its only downside could be the power scaling, but personally, that doesn't bother me as I came for a strong protagonist with a compelling plot, and that's exactly what I got.

So far, it's been fantastic. I appreciate the dynamic nature of the tower floor, treating it as an immersive world rather than just a climbing space. Although it might not be as exceptional as some other novels I've come across, it's still a delightful read that keeps me entertained.

The book follows a familiar "travel back in time to save the world" template, resembling Second Life Ranker quite closely. Despite the protagonist's overwhelming abilities and extensive knowledge, which might lead to easy solutions, it doesn't automatically make it a poor read. The translation is exceptional, the narrative pacing is solid, and the supporting characters are well-developed. The main character displays a smart, self-assured, calculating demeanor, often displaying ruthlessness but not without moments of kindness.

If you appreciate stories that blend regression, tower climbing, and dungeon conquest, this book is definitely worth your time. Although it might not be groundbreaking, the world-building is solid, the logic behind the regression and plot progression is convincing, and despite some clichéd characters, they exhibit varying levels of depth and development. There are no excessive harem tropes or overly sexualized depictions; instead, it offers a well-written tale with a straightforward yet engaging plot.

The main criticism I have is the author's reliance on vague descriptions to create suspense. Phrases like, "I've got a big test tomorrow and I haven't studied enough... I suppose I'll have to use... 'that thing'!" or "It's the big corporate takeover, and things aren't looking good... I think you'll need to consult with... 'that guy'!" feel contrived and detract from the tension. However, this is a common issue in many web novels, which can be frustrating.

Overall, if you enjoy this genre, this particular story stands above many others. So, if that's your cup of tea, go ahead and give it a read for some light entertainment.

I'm confused as to why there are numerous recommendations for this since it seems like a direct copy of Second Life Ranker. After keeping it on my reading list for a while, I was hoping for more, especially given all the hype. Frankly, it's highly overrated in my opinion, although the artwork is commendable.

You don't really seem to understand the MC's character, when you are a little older and have interacted with a few actual humans irl you will figure out that not all men are like the toxic ones from your fantasy novels that are mainly targeted at fangirls.

So, I finally caught up with the latest chapters and the ending was pretty good, it was a bit rushed but it ended well. But the only problem that I want to discuss is one of the plotholes?
