What makes this novel stand out from the ones I've read so far is the humorous and vulgar dialogue between the main characters. It’s quite amusing to see such crude language coming from a woman branded as a priestess, who offers herself to a man as casually as offering a piece of candy. Perhaps I’ve read too many angst-filled and revenge-driven stories with plots of divorce and betrayal, so I overlooked this genre. But it’s genuinely funny, especially when the main lead (ML) tries to exorcise the female lead (FL) because of her shocking and vulgar words, lol.
The backstory is that the female lead (FL) is an orphan who first fell in love with the male lead (ML) when she was five years old because he gave her a piece of a pie he didn’t like. Since then, she has overthought a lot.
The male lead (ML) is the third son of a duke and was encouraged by his mother to become a priest due to the challenging succession battle. He eventually became a knight of the silver cross, with plans to become a priest. Out of the blue, FL confesses to him that she has loved him for 17 years and offers to have sexual intercourse with him three times a month for six months, in broad daylight, no less. She also threatens to tell the bishop about their affair (which includes a shared kiss that was part of her condition to help ML) if he turns her down.
I’m curious to see where this secret affair will lead and how ML will react once he discovers that FL is doing all this to have his child, specifically for his sperm. Will FL really leave him after she becomes pregnant, and will ML chase after her, or will he choose his position as a knight and a priest over her?
