A flash of lightning is all it took to turn Takeo Ruka's life upside-down. She is thrown 400 years into the past, into a world of war and bloodshed, but not quite the past she's familiar with from history class. The war is brutal and those a part of it ruthless, particularly one who is feared far and wide for his cold, cruel ways. Despite the sudden change in her life, Ruka settles into the slow, primeval lifestyle with the help of kind, warm-hearted people of a village. While everything seems plain and simple in the beginning, complications soon arise one after the other, rousing unsettling emotions and situations. When she's about to give up on ever being happy again, she sees a silver lining. It is then that she realizes that some things are not just what they seem to be on the outside. With truths slowly uncovering, Ruka soon finds the place she wants to be in and the person she wants to be with.
