Gu Ning'an unexpectedly transmigrated into a Xianxia world and stumbled upon a mystical manual titled The Path of Dao. After years of diligent cultivation, he mastered its teachings, gaining the strength to slay a tiger with a single finger. Feeling confident in his abilities, Gu Ning'an descended the mountain and explored the mortal world for five years.

During his journey, he roamed the rivers and lakes, forged new friendships, and vanquished demons and monsters. However, one day, he came across The Path of Dao at a roadside bookstall, only to discover that the so-called immortal technique he had relied upon was nothing more than a widely circulated folktale in the mortal realm.

Determined to uncover the truth, Gu Ning'an returned to the mountain and immersed himself in studying The Path of Dao once more. Twenty years passed in a blink, and Gu Ning'an felt as though he had grasped the entirety of heaven and earth, with the ends of the world visible at a glance. In that moment, a strange realization dawned upon him—if he so wished, he could ascend to immortality on the spot...

Ranks very very high up on my list of books to read and recommend. Writing:5In truth, should award a 4 ~ 4.5 because of several minor grammar and tense mistakes spaced throughout the chapters. Won't do so because I noted the author going back over his chapters once in a while so this aspect will not be an issue for those coming late into the book.Additionally - and I do not write about this aspect to writing - the writing style is very much enjoyable. The humor is inter-spaced with flair and there are many closing sections that scream 'cliff-hanger' only that they were done tastefully.Perhaps this comment is best left to the char design aspect to reviewing but that section has enough to write on so won't miss out; the author takes care with his dialogues! You don't get the sense you are reading a wuxia novel - yes, I went there! Some of those dialogue scenes are so bad you are left wishing for someone to breathe in someone else's space just so the 'young master' can get offended and wipe out an entire family.Ahem, back to the review:As said, the dialogue scenes are well written. This is especially so with their relevance to the plot development and world background as we get titbits thrown out there that tell us more about the world and plot building up to the next arc.Updates: 4...but gets a 5 because he is faithful to his updates.Sure, 1 chapter a day really leaves us bleary-eyed but if you consider the care with which the story is written, you do not want to rush the guy.Story Dev'p:7No cliches.Like really, no cliches!Even the latest arc with a class excursion into the wild where you'd expect the MC to outshine his mates was thrown out the window and stomped on.To illustrate, think of the norm in these scenarios: a young MC with a chip on his shoulder as a social outcast goes into the wild on a school competition. A coalition of powerful scions of powerful families decide to gang against the MC for some reason never really specified but assumed reasonable - like really, the casus belli is never truly explained and instead we have hordes of enemies trying to kill the MC while the school masters join in on the fun and only interfere when it becomes clear that the spawns are incapable of finishing the job. Then the MC is forced to run away from the province while vowing utter destruction upon the school. Fortunately, the arc was not a total waste; the MC hooked up with a secret princess of a powerful family hiding out in the boondocks and while their romance it forbidden, he does not mind.Familiar?Yeah, none of that horse manure here!First off, Lith refuses to go to school! We have our dear 4th wall broken - and not in that clunky manner in which the MC tells us exactly why consuming this particular resource to gain that particular effect was especially clever of them...Finally convinced to go to school - and this is because ultimately, his cheat device is not quite omni-potent - we are provided with the saving grace of a Big Brother pocket device that shuts down 99.99999999% of the plot elements we see whenever the MC goes to an institution as a loner.Going back to the competition, most of the class is wiped out. The school masters have designed a training program that makes sure to humiliate the students and while Lith is quite adept at leading his mates - reluctantly at that, what with him being a webpage away from being Reverend Insanity - and this is where we are at right now. No heroisms...he actually wishes to sabotage his companions and would do so but for the fact that it would cripple his own chances.Char design:7 [yes, another. Something wrong with the template because it limits the scale somewhat]guy has a personality. Easy enough to do given that he is the MC. Unless it was some dry story like Lord Xue Ying where personality traits are really hard to find, any author can craft a story with some personality in their main guy.How many have we encountered here where the side characters have considerable time spent on them? And I do not mean the 'perfumed young mistress with pale skin and blushes at inconvenient moments whenever they spy upon a warrior holding a spear', There are numerous personalities upon whom the author spent considerable effort to get us to know them with enough depth we can sort of predict their actions. These include, but are not limited to, the Count, the Marquess, several of his classmates and others. Not many authors spend time on character definitions and enhancement and I am happy to state that this particular novel does that with spades.World background:5Not much to speak on on this aspect. However, note that we know of the world not because of a massive info-dump but rather because it has been slipped into our drinks with the expertise of a date-ra-pe drug drugger.I especially like how I can fantasize about future conflicts down the line not because the MC got tired of the starting village but rather because the dialogues and interactions tell us there is more to the world than meets the website.

People are just making baseless assumptions on this novel based on the synopsis, I'll clear up some things and give my opinion.I accidently wrote a lot while writing this but please bear with the review I think I wrote down a lot of important things that are missing in a lot of other reviews."The game": The game's identity is extremely mysterious, he does eventually meet up with other players but it seems like most people dont actually understand it entirely themselves and its even stated that other players cant even be trusted (it can also be assumed that its extremely underground and we aren't even clear about the identities of the other human players), considering how desperate every player is to get stronger we can assume everyone gets stronger from the game, even up till chapter 40 he never actually had any instance of him getting strength from the game except for when he lifted groceries, 99% of his time is dedicated to playing the game and sleeping.MC's Store: He may be the only person with a store but he doesn't even start to use it until about chapter 35 because he thinks that its a waste to spend money in a random game, and when he does its because he realized he can convert in-game currency into store currency to buy certain items (pills, certain techniques, etc) but its not entirely overpowered because he actually has to farm an extensive amount to actually get the items he needs, but it doesn't sideline the story because hes actually able to progress the story while farming for the currency in the ways available to him."Is it just a faceslapping novel" Nah, you kinda get the vibe at the start just cause of his "talent" in cultivation but its just because hes a player and its clear that he isn't actually that talented it was just in comparison to brand new rando mortals, it steers away from the faceslapping a decent amount and focuses a lot more on the world-building, and even emphasizes constantly how weak the mc is, hes basically unable to defeat anyone above 2 minor realms above him and all of the people that actually conspire anything are 1 major realm so he has to constantly cultivate, while trying to understand the game world better, while trying to uncover deeper conspiracies that he normally shouldn't be interacting with, with his cultivation level, all at the same time trying to survive on a day to day.I think that this is one of the few trial reads that are of absolute top quality, comparable to "Top Tier Providence, Secretly Cultivate for a Thousand Years" and "Cultivation! My Augmented Statuses Have Unlimited Duration" (Which are both amazing cultivation novels if you haven't seen them before), its just that people have recently gotten a pre-conceived notion that all trial reads are just random trash (cuz to be fair most of them are) but rating this one randomly 1-3 star like I see a lot of people doing is the kinda thing thats actually sabotaging this website and making it so we continually get such lower quality editor's picks consistently. It would be a shame to let this novel be left so under-rated so I thought to leave my review to set everything completely straight.

I've read both ROTSSG and Rebirth of the thief who roamed the world and at first I thought the this novel is like your typical reincarnated person in the game story type but as I read further in the chapters I saw that the story became deeper, on all honesty there are grammar mistake here and there and sometimes it confuses me, but the author is compensating me with the good story arcs, as the other review said, the world building is a mess, at first but little by little it became clearer, I'm just looking at it in a new game perspective that the author don't want us to know the layout of the world because he himself is still exploring it.    Final thoughts: At first you'll just see a generic type reincarnation game but as you go further down the novel you'll notice that the author is growing. Give it a try, if you love reincarnation games like the one that I mentioned then you will surely love this one too.

Now, I was genuinely intrigued upon reading the start of the novel. The main character was very interesting, and the world had a lot of potential. However, I feel like the author barely did anything with any of that.Enter Me! The Skillionaire Says In Parentheses is a story about a girl whos name I can't remember. A hyper-intelligent barely-sane experimental subject. Using her absurd prowess, she is able to very quickly rise in power in hopes to dominate the world.Writing quality is really good. There is a LOT of references in this novel, along with a fair bit of poetry. Far above average for this site. (5/5 stars)Story development is the first major flaw. While the story direction is interesting, it feels like the author creates a new plot point/direction with a lot of potential then doesn't do anything with it. This story has gone a little everywhere and has done next to nothing with any of it. Because of this, the story simultaneously comes off as extremely chaotic and extremely boring. (2/5 stars)Character design is decent. Above-average. The main character is definitely unique. The side characters are pretty good, but it doesn't feel like theres a whole lot of focus on some of them. (4/5 stars)World background. From the content alone, it's worthy of five stars. However the way they introduce is it is extremely annoying. It is a perpetually increasing stream of info-dumping. I find myself almost falling asleep listening to some random character ramble on about some obscure information that I doubt will be relevant. The author introduces too much information too fast. (3/5 stars)Overall, a novel good for it's world-building depth and writing quality, but not much else. Everything else can be described as passable but the story gets rather boring, especially later on. Parts of the novel feel like the author forgot the plot and focused exclusively on world-background. I give this novel 3.8 stars out of 5.

Alright I liked the concept of your story. A shameless layabout who likes to take short cuts and want to be king of all trades. Me being that demographic, I can guarantee you that I would not start with being a farmer. I would like to do stuff that I can get the most out of with least amount of effort and time wouldn't matter to me. I don't know why he is in such a hurry to get level 10 fast. Slow and steady is the game of the lazy king. I would probably start with gambling. get some money through black jack. Not a lot but $100,000 or so through a couple different casinos than get good in poker and his money trouble goes away. Money can't buy happiness but neither can being poor and money does help in many ways like helping his mother. After that slowly learn everything that he needs to.

Quite a funny and entertaining story of a man who isn't allowed to give up. This is the story of how a "lucky" find makes MC stronger. Please keep it up.
