After reading the first 33 chapters, there are two key issues that detract from the reading experience. Firstly, the protagonist's motivations seem inconsistent. Despite claiming to只想求生存,避免引人注意, he frequently puts himself in danger and thrusts himself into the limelight, often relying on plot armor to save him. Additionally, although he is aware that the girls adore him, he primarily uses them for his schemes without showing genuine affection or concern, treating them more as plot devices than partners.
A minor spoiler follows:
He even invites a girl he knows has feelings for him to a fancy hotel dinner, solely to exploit her help in defeating enemies, exposing them both to significant risks.
While this manipulation might be seen as endearing by some, it's the excessive focus on random world-building,详细介绍主角在游戏中发现的技能和策略(因为他本来就是老玩家) that really bothers me. The narrative becomes repetitive, with the protagonist combining various skills with rare items under specific circumstances to boost his power despite his weak stats. It feels like a tedious read-through of a game that fails to engage me.
Perhaps the story improves later on, catering to those who enjoy such a style, but for me, it feels unnecessarily drawn-out and doesn't justify the high ratings it receives.
1. The main attraction for me is the yandere harem theme, which guarantees plenty of comedic interactions between the protagonist, the female leads, and even some supporting characters, particularly the protagonist's brother-in-law.
Now, onto the drawbacks I noticed:
1. One significant issue is the rapid pace of the story, which feels hurried due to the looming apocalypse setting.
2. Another point of criticism is that some of the heroines receive insufficient attention, considering the novel has fewer than 150 chapters, leaving room for more character development.
In conclusion, while there might be some plot conveniences, like the duke's daughter trusting someone on a whim, the book is an enjoyable read overall if one doesn't dwell on those aspects too much.
This is my first review on NU, so let me start by discussing the plot. It follows a familiar premise - "save the world or face doom," but with an intriguing twist. Instead of battling a demon king, the protagonist must form a harem to prevent his female companions from destroying the world. The story offers a well-crafted plot, engaging writing, and features yandere characters, among other elements.
A word of caution: Spoilers follow.
The highlight of the story lies in its yandere characters, but it's important to note that their behavior isn't innate; rather, they possess hidden demonic traits. Each possesses unique powers, such as one who can manipulate time and another capable of devastating destruction. The protagonist's system, though not particularly helpful, plays a significant role in attracting these girls, as it causes evil-aligned individuals to fall in love with him almost instantaneously, with their affection increasing with their wickedness. To avoid spoiling too much, I suggest diving into the series to explore these details firsthand.
In summary: The protagonist finds himself in a high-stakes situation where he must balance an eclectic harem of evil-yandere girls, along with a few redeemable characters, to prevent a catastrophic outcome.
What sets this book apart from others is its realistic portrayal of the main character, avoiding cliches like invincibility or instant power-ups. Each storyline presents a fresh challenge, whether from a formidable antagonist or the consequences of the protagonist's actions, which are satisfactorily resolved.
To sum up, regardless of whether you're drawn to the specific themes mentioned, I strongly encourage you to give this novel a chance. It offers a rewarding and engaging read.
The novel is not taken seriously, as it doesn't exhibit much effort in its storytelling. The plot structure revolves around predictable events – bad things happening, the protagonist swiftly finding solutions, or relying on plot armor. The protagonist rarely experiences significant setbacks, as their struggles don't have a meaningful impact. While the book can be entertaining, the humor falls flat, possibly due to poor translation.
Honestly, its not like bad,but it just aint allat, people overrate this a lot,the romance is one-sided(tho i heard at some point(200+ probably) he gets feelings) and kinda stupid, the action is good, the worldbuilding is ok,the characters are ok-good,the comedy is ok-good too i guess, the world building is ok,the mc is lowkey retarded(especially when its about women) and dense, overall,it might be a fun read but there are better options out there
tho i gotta agree that the more recent chapters have been more fun,so i think this got potential to become better
