In Shanglin Village, ‘Ma Wuni’ is good-looking, capable of managing a household, and strong. ‘Qian Jin’ is developing in the military, earns a salary, is handsome, and has a promising future, but his flaws are being narrow-minded and holding grudges. The slight awkwardness is that Ma Wuni had just broken off her engagement with Qian Jin’s academically excellent, well-behaved, and good-natured brother ‘Qian Cheng’, only to turn around and get engaged to ‘Qian Jin’, whom she has been at odds with since childhood. For Qian Jin, this childhood friendship among three people is his personal chaos.
Mini Scene: Qian Jin looks at Ma Wuni and Qian Cheng before him: “What are you two doing?” Ma Wuni kicks away the entangled Qian Cheng: “Don’t misunderstand, I didn’t do anything.” Qian Cheng grabs Ma Wuni: “Wuni, let’s elope.” Ma Wuni shakes her head, turning to Qian Jin: “That’s not happening, could I possibly fancy him?” Qian Jin scoffs twice, “If you didn’t fancy him, why get engaged back then?” Ma Wuni: “That was youthful ignorance, not understanding love. Now, isn’t it that there’s no one else in my eyes but you?”
