The world contains two agencies: 'Yankai' and 'Yokai'. Yankai fights for the welfare of people, protecting them, while Yokai tend to cause chaos and trouble, wreaking havoc in society. The leader of Yokai is a heartless woman who finds pleasure in violence and suffering. Few people attain power, and it's their decision whether to be 'Good' or 'Evil'. Some Yokai retain their normal bodies, but others lose all humanity, becoming mindless monsters. All who join Yokai get corrupted. The leader stands above all, her evil unmatched; she’s known as "the Queen of Devils".
Conversely, Yankai works for good. Their leader appears stern but is very kind, earning her the names "the Angel" or "The Staff of God". She treats all members equally, with wisdom beyond comprehension. She works tirelessly day and night to bring peace to the city.
Now for a tale that quietly reflects reality: Rumor has it that the powerful Tanzaki clan has never lost its position as 'The Strongest Clan' since the 16th century. They always won wars, making other clans fear them. The Tanzaki clan owned the largest land in all of Japan. However, in the 19th century, a law required all clans owning land to hand it over to the government. From then on, none should rule any place. All clans agreed, but this didn’t stop the Tanzaki clan from remaining the strongest. In current days, the Tanzaki clan is one of the few that still exist. They never lost anything; it was as if they had infinite money. There was a rumor that one of the members, or rather the leader at that time, summoned a Genie who granted his wish for endless power and money.
But all good things don't last forever. The same leader was attacked the day after and fell into a coma. He saw something—a purple figure staring at him until he woke up. No one knows what he saw, but upon waking, he kept screaming "WE'RE CURSED!" over and over again. Since that day, they were considered cursed. Soon, a local and very trusted priest visited him and broke the news about this curse.
