The divine beast cub living in the Classic of Mountains and Seas opened its eyes and became the little prince of the Qichao royal family.
The little prince had no mother, and no one to love him.
—-It seemed like he wouldn’t live past the age of three.
——
The cub who transmigrated in didn’t want to die like this.
He struggled to move his short legs, stumbling out to find food for himself.
Bang!
The cub bumped into the most favored but ruthless noble consort in the harem.
Cub: “Fin, finished.”
——
Later, the most arrogant and impatient noble consort, seeing the mischievous cub climbing trees, spent the whole afternoon coaxing him gently.
“Cub, be good, mother loves you the most. Come down, mother won’t scold you.”
——
The cub, favored and spoiled by the noble consort, had the ability to foresee the future.
He saw the beautiful but lovesick noble consort mother, ultimately executed by the ruthless dog emperor.
The eldest brother, who had the greatest talent for governing the country, died wrongly due to human error
The bright and passionate second sister was offered to the aging emperor of Great Qing for reconciliation.
The gentle and smiling third brother, the year after the eldest brother’s death, followed him.
The domineering fourth brother, the reserved and shy fifth sister…
None of them had a good ending.
Their country was also destroyed by the cruel young crown prince of Great Qing.
——
The cub, who foresaw the ending, looked at his beloved mother and siblings.
He puffed up his cheeks and changed everyone’s fate one by one!
For the lovesick noble consort, the cub helped her.
For the brothers and sisters who were to be sacrificed to Great Qing, the cub packed his little bag and went himself!
——
Seeing the cub being sent away, the royal brothers, sisters, and noble consort looked at the palace gate, their eyes red with tears.
The noble consort mother was completely cured of her lovesickness and began to reform the ruthless dog emperor.
The princes no longer fought internally but tearfully swore—
For the cub’s humiliation today, they would repay it in the future!
——
In the eyes of relatives, the cub would surely be humiliated when he arrived at Great Qing.
However, no one expected.
The most ruthless crown prince of Great Qing was now half-kneeling by the bed, coaxing the drunken cub.
“I won’t destroy your country, I won’t let you be the fallen country’s little prince.”
“Whatever you say, goes.”
——

I was looking for something akin to "After Transmigrating into a Book, My Father Emperor Could Hear My Inner Voice" — a story set in the harem but focusing on the children — and this definitely hit the mark.

There’s a good mix of antagonistic forces, ranging from political enemies to those within the harem, yet the series maintains a heart-warming tone. The main character's (MC) interactions with everyone are absolutely adorable (though I do wonder how everyone finds it normal for a two-year-old to perform multiplication? I guess they just assume he’s precocious. In fairness, as a Rui beast, it makes sense that he can do more than an actual two-year-old, but they don’t know that).

It’s refreshing to see him win over everyone while holding onto his own moral compass, despite others often telling him the opposite.

    **Spoiler**
Consort Yi (his mother) tells him he shouldn’t save his brothers just because they don’t like him. Smh. Thankfully, our MC has a stronger sense of moral obligation.
    **[End Spoiler]**

The real villains are the adults who manipulate the children, eroding any potential sibling bonds.

    I wasn’t really prepared for

    **Spoiler**
the emperor to emerge as the villain behind the scenes, showing more autocratic tendencies than expected.
    **[End Spoiler]**

It’s not that I have a problem with this, but it felt sudden. It could have been an interesting exploration of conflicting goals and different faces, given how well he treats the MC, but the transition wasn’t smooth.

    **Spoiler**
At the start, the author emphasizes the emperor’s prime and vigor, but a year later, he’s taking medication for high blood pressure and needs to avoid stress.
    **[End Spoiler]**

More foreshadowing would have helped. (Upon further reading, I suspect what I thought was an abrupt shift was the author’s attempt at foreshadowing... Since afterward, the emperor returns to being nice and doting. In that case, that’s not exactly how foreshadowing works.)

Apart from that, I enjoy the relationship between the MC and Ah Wu, particularly how Ah Wu always respects the MC’s choices and feelings (like retracting his request for the MC to accompany him when the MC is sad about having to choose between loved ones — he’d rather wait than stress the MC now).

In conclusion, this book keeps you engaged without causing anxiety over the main characters. The supporting characters’ primary trait is their adoration of the MC, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need. And this book delivers it well.
