Can’t Save the World by Pretending to be Dead

Lian Xi was born with yin and yang eyes, and has been asked by ghosts every day since he was a child. Helping ghosts to fulfil their long-cherished wishes will be rewarded. But no one knows whether the reward is merit or sin that will lead to retribution. Whenever Lian Xi helped a ghost, once the job was done, the ghost immediately flashed around. The golden light is merit and the red light is sin. However, doing good deeds may not necessarily result in merits, and doing bad deeds may not necessarily result in sins. If you get merit, the Mark Six lottery (a lottery betting in Hong Kong, illegal in the Chinese mainland) will fall from the sky, but if you get sin, you will step on dog shit. After three consecutive days of eating bugs out of a takeaway, Lian Xi came to his senses: “Pretending to be dead is the only way to save my worldview!” I thought I could live my life peacefully by pretending to be dead, but I didn’t realise that there were more and more ghosts around me, and more and more strange people.
