I remember reading this and enjoying it until I wasn’t and then the romance started and I pretty much instantly dropped it out of extreme cringe

It seems like people might be unhappy with the MC's progress in the game due to occasional "nerfs," even though it's primarily affecting one aspect. The character has evolved significantly, gaining strength over time, starting from a weak state where they relied heavily on their magic, which was once considered overpowered. Now, their swordsmanship has improved to a point where it's on par with or even surpasses the main characters, especially since the original MC is just a possessed brute. The emphasis lies in the character's growth trajectory.

I'm uncertain about continuing with this. The storyline is satisfactory, and I appreciate how the protagonist adapts creatively to their physical limitations, which has kept me engaged so far. However, the issue lies in the author's repetitive pattern of negating the protagonist's newly acquired abilities to maintain a certain plot structure reminiscent of shounen manga. This constant resetting of the protagonist's progress is what's causing my enthusiasm to wane.

In summary, it's a decent read, but the repetitive downplaying of the main character's growth is a significant drawback, giving it a rating of 3 out of 5 stars.

Initially, I found it appealing how the main character (MC) displayed a strong drive to become stronger. However, upon joining the academy, their focus shifted predominantly towards expanding their harem, rather than honing their skills. The fact that they couldn't even defeat the original protagonist in a one-on-one battle led me to lose interest, as it seemed the story would revolve around constant flirting with the female characters rather than any meaningful progression.
