This is yet another fantastic read! I appreciate stories with a touch of angst, but I need it to be balanced. This one struck the right chord! Despite understanding much of the conflict, the narrative maintained its appeal without dragging on. Misunderstandings played a significant role, but they ultimately led to a compelling development.

The story revolves around a love affair between two contrasting characters - a Dao Immortal and a former demon king, Tantai Jin. Their paths cross, and despite their dark pasts, they find a connection. Tantai Jin's backstory is filled with betrayal, weakness, and manipulation, while the female lead, FL, struggles to protect her family in the future. Their relationship is a mix of love and animosity, mirroring the clash between light and darkness.

I particularly enjoyed how the supporting characters received their comeuppance, making their arcs engaging. The multiple love stories that the main characters experienced added depth and emotional satisfaction. A major plot twist revealed that Ye Bingshang, a key figure, had been deceitful, setting up the initial connection between Tantai Jin and FL.

One of my favorite moments was a sweet gesture, albeit unexpected, when Ye Xiwu sacrifices one of her eyes for Tantai Jin, without him realizing it until later. It showcased a different side to their relationship.

FL's character growth is commendable, as she evolves while staying true to her beliefs. The ML, though erratic, experiences profound pain, which adds complexity to his character. However, the story fell short for me with instances of the ML prioritizing others over the MC, particularly his enemies, which felt unjustifiable.

Overall, the book offers a satisfying conclusion, but it's not a five-star read due to certain plot points. If you enjoy angsty relationships with a blend of sweetness and character development, I would recommend giving it a try.

Oh dear God, I sincerely pray for substantial character growth for the female lead because currently, she comes across as vindictive and dim-witted, almost like a doofus. If she's aware that the male lead is destined to become evil and is content in their current state, wouldn't her priority be to prevent situations that could fuel his anger and desire for revenge? Instead, she consistently mistreats him, worsening the circumstances. It's frustrating, to say the least.

Wow, I couldn't even get through five chapters. Despite giving it a chance despite all the negative reviews, I decided to stop. The main character's treatment of the male lead at the beginning is utterly disrespectful – she mercilessly beats him without any apparent reason. She tries to justify her actions by claiming that he's the ultimate evil in a world 500 years ahead, where she comes from. However, constantly comparing the original protagonist's cruelty to hers and realizing she's repeating their cycle only serves to highlight her own恶劣 behavior. It's difficult to read and even more difficult to accept. This goes beyond cruelty and sadism; it's frustrating to see someone treated so unfairly. Screw this novel.

This is a compelling novel that tugs at your emotions. If you're seeking a heartfelt and emotionally intense story, look no further! My only minor issue is that it's quite lengthy and may have a slight pacing drag; my impatience might be a contributing factor.

However, overall, I found the book enjoyable. I empathized deeply with both the male and female leads, particularly the male lead, who made significant sacrifices and went to great lengths for love. The author did an excellent job developing the characters, showcasing her finest work. I highly recommend giving it a chance – it's definitely worth the read.

I must admit, this book ranks among the most emotionally intense novels I've encountered, securing a spot in my top five. For those who enjoy heart-wrenching stories, get ready because it packs quite a punch. Both main characters undergo immense pain. Just a heads up, there are actually two endings labeled as BE and HE in the chapter titles, but truth be told, the HE is the true conclusion.

With up to 49 chapters completed, this novel has been exceptional. Although I was emotionally moved by a flashback involving supporting characters that share some similarities with the primary couple, the overall sentiment towards the story is positive. The slow progression of their relationship is intriguing, promising a fiery climax as the story unfolds.

The integration of cultivation, devil, demon, and spirit themes, along with the well-developed world-building, adds depth and richness to the narrative. What stands out is the lack of animosity between the main character and the eldest sister; their relationship dynamics are refreshingly unique, and I appreciate the subtle tension that exists, primarily unintentional for now. I am eager to see how this dynamic evolves, especially when it becomes more deliberate.

I am impatiently awaiting the events described in the synopsis to unfold.

    * Gasps in disbelief * The MC's actions have left me stunned. Claiming to be an upright immortal, yet causing harm? Even if ML was destined to become a great villain, how can she justify her righteousness? That's why I avoid xianxia novels; it's too much for me. (╥_╥)

As other readers mentioned, one must steel oneself to endure this story. Frankly, the world-building feels lackluster, and I haven't formed any strong connections with the characters despite skimming through it.

Regarding the ML's treatment, while some may empathize, I can understand MC's perspective given ML's past actions, like saving Ye Bingshang first despite being married to the original. But that doesn't mean I condone her behavior. (눈_눈)

The storytelling is disorienting, with abrupt plot twists that bring on emotional turmoil. If you enjoy dark, intense narratives involving loyalty tests and ruthless relationships, this might be your cup of tea. Good luck, though it's not my preferred genre. (╥╥)

The story revolves around a character who exhibits psychopathic tendencies, which is integral to the plot. Some readers criticize the protagonist's (ML) behavior, but it's essential to note that his actions stem from his psychological condition. The sympathy for ML stems from his struggles, not an excuse for his actions; his condition led others to mistreat him.

Love between the main characters, ML and FL, is complex due to ML's nature. FL initially seems to rescue him, which could have fostered her feelings, but it's unclear if she truly fell for him until later in the story. ML's love,尽管笨拙,却深深且无私, which eventually leads to FL's regret.

The character development, particularly ML's understanding of love, is portrayed as rudimentary, influenced by his mentor (shizun), who provided guidance due to ML's learning difficulties. The narrative can be confusing at times due to insufficient character portrayal and extraneous elements. However, the story has emotional depth that might be better conveyed through an adaptation like a drama or radio drama, as it allows for interpretation and filling in the gaps. While some may prefer a visual or auditory experience over the text, the novel itself holds its own when cleaned up and interpreted by the creators.

The story you mentioned seems to revolve around an anti-hero主角 who starts off as a villain and undergoes a tragic arc, eventually receiving a happier ending. In the story, the protagonist (ML) is portrayed as woobified, and readers tend to empathize more with the abusive, narcissistic character rather than the female lead (FL).

While the FL is not without her flaws, there's a paradox in the reviews where some criticize her for being too understanding or lenient towards the ML, yet also expect her to treat him better. The plot involves the FL's mission to kill the ML, who is the future Demon Lord, a remorseless and sadistic figure responsible for torture and genocide. Despite his tragic past, she tries not to同情 him to stay focused on her objective.

The FL's actions are well-justified within the context of the story, as she disables his powers to prevent him from becoming stronger and ultimately kills him for the greater good. However, readers seem to sympathize more with the ML, even though he has abused his power and mistreated her throughout their relationship.

It's surprising that despite witnessing his cruel behavior, readers fail to comprehend her hatred and determination to escape him. Throughout the story, the FL saves or heals him, only to face further abuse from him. The anticipation of the ML's eventual regret for his treatment does not seem to satisfy readers' expectations.

In summary, the story explores the complexities of the FL's actions and emotions, while also addressing the mixed reactions from readers who struggle to empathize with both characters despite their contrasting behaviors.

Honestly, this novel has quite a dark and ruthless tone. Apart from the secondary male character, most of the other characters come across as unsympathetic. The plot initially started decently, but after the Ye Xiwu arc, it took a downturn. The main female (FL) and male lead (ML) struggle with communication, leading to unnecessary misunderstandings. I found it disturbing when the ML justified massacring an entire innocent city because of his failed relationship with the FL, who ultimately took her own life. While I understand his tragic background, it's disheartening how it affected others, like the secondary male lead, who became a pawn in their story.

Additionally, the FL's character seems somewhat inconsistent. As a revered figure meant to protect and care for the world, she fails to intervene when the ML hurts innocent people. It's hard to accept that she can love someone responsible for her family's demise and sect's destruction, yet struggles to forgive her sister who suffered at the hands of the original Ye Xiwu.

The constant emphasis on the FL's beauty, often through comparisons like body measurements, feels gratuitous. Although the FL isn't inherently evil, her character isn't entirely virtuous given her elevated status. Furthermore, the narrative seems to favor the male lead despite his equally villainous actions, while the secondary female lead receives little sympathy. Despite acknowledging the male lead's hardships, I believe the FL undergoes a deeper emotional turmoil, making the reading experience mentally draining.

As an avid enthusiast of enemy-to-lover stories, I thoroughly enjoyed this read. If you appreciate tales of tragedy with a heartwarming conclusion, give it a shot.

Set in a captivating universe where demons, gods, mortals, and immortals coexist, the story revolves around a female protagonist who embarks on a journey 500 years back to prevent the rising young demon god, Tantai Jin, from conquering the world.

Note that this novel is penned by the same author who crafted "Devil's Warmth," another emotional rollercoaster set in contemporary times.

Don't let the intimidating facade scare you away! ML is essentially someone who lacks emotional understanding; he imitates others to appear normal. His traumatic past has shaped him into someone unaware of his actions' consequences. Imagine teaching a young child not to playfully poke insects with a stick - ML similarly struggles with understanding the harm he inflicts. Although FL doesn't love him, he finds her intriguing.

There's a hint of masochism in ML's nature, and he actually enjoys rough treatment from FL. His survival instincts drive him to extreme measures, but he yearns for power and dominance, desiring to outdo FL, who controls his fate. It's like a child trying to pull pranks without fully comprehending the limits, leading to irreparable consequences.

This narrative offers a compelling journey of character growth for both protagonists, as they confront their past errors and navigate their emotions with their duties and ambitions. If you're a fan of angsty enemy-to-lover or hero-vs-villain stories, this is definitely a book worth checking out!
