At the end of the world, a legendary hero gave his life to save a dear friend, only to be reborn as a four-year-old orphan with 'Crab Affinity'.

The apocalypse has come and gone, claiming humanity with it. All humans have had their 'Souls' stolen and claimed by monsters - vampires, demons, zombies - you name it.

Reborn as Barnacle (Barns for short), the once-legendary hero claws his way back to strength under the tutelage of the gluttonous King Crab, a sentient crustacean with more vice than virtue in his shell.

Follow Barns' journey as he rediscovers his power of rebirth, which when combined with a little 'crab magic' has the power to reset humans back to their original selves.

It's time to take a crack at resetting the apocalypse.

its sad the novel was good the idea was good then the usual happened with CN novels and went from 4.5 to 3.0good until chapter 138 or so , then the author for some strange reason threw out of the window a good part of the plot and the worldbuilding he made so far, grandmaster strongest realm so far? nah scratch that, lets make them weak and completely forget about martial warriors, lets make this all about the ability users and forget about what we said before about martial grandmaster being the strongest, family? lets completely forget about them, who cares about them anyway im way too strong by now anyway and they can't catch up so puff and they're gone.then the author in some chapters remember what he said and try to patch it saying "well he was a mortal before...and he dindt truly know about the real strong people" etc, and well the family? lets pretend theyre gone we cant patch it up anyway.

Wow, a half-decent beast taming novel, for once. That said, there's a reason it's only half decent. Much of this makes no sense at all. If the MC's family praises the strong and enslaves the weak, why do they send kick all their children out to train abroad? How are they supposed to get stronger if beast taming uses so many resources? Why is the 'Strange Snowman' monster a FIRE type exotic beast? Why does the guy on the title look like a petrified Legolas? We may never know.

Review around mid 200s:The story was great and quite interesting until sometime after the full reveal of the MC’s OPness. After that, at least in the current arc, the elements of the story seemed diminished, forced, and pointless. It would be fine if the story didn’t focus directly on the MC, but it does. The author tends to drag out events with lots of padding. The MC’s values seem to change on a whim, maybe in reaction to the readers. Grammar: high quality with a couple of mistakes here and there. The author’s notes, meant to drive engagement, break immersion in an annoying way. First, most of us don't want to pay coins for these notes. Second, the author constantly apologizes for his mistakes but refuses to change or correct the problems. Seriously, don’t apologize for it if you're not going to change it. Also, readers aren’t always itching for a fight scene. What’s important is drama, tension, novelty, mystery, promise, and fulfillment. The latest scenes I’ve read sorely lack these elements. Those initial fights, even those ending in one sentence at random, had those aspects. The time outside of the physical fighting had even more of those elements and was, therefore, more enjoyable.Maybe I need to skip ahead to a future arc to get that tension and intrigue back, but I loathe to do so. (Note: Being told about the presence of and structure of arcs directly by the author's notes makes me irritated because it is also immersion-breaking. For readers, arcs are elements meant to be realized in retrospect or not at all.) I would likely recommend this story if it was an abridged version with the padding and author notes removed. The story has many worthy moments.

So many thoughts rushed my head. I tried to get away but as I tried to slip out of her grasp, she made a cute cranky moan and stuck to me tighter. Her chest against mine was too much for me to handle.

After about an hour I went up for my turn. I followed the instructions when a burst of fire went from my fist lighting the fire up. Many young children were staring at me in awe. A soldier came and roughly pulled my arm to the line of people who had lit the fire. Once it was my friend, Ines turn, nothing happened. I looked down. I got told what would happen if one of us lit the fire and the other didn't.
