The reason I gave the characters a 4 is solely due to the male character, who had some charm. However, if it were based on the female character, I would have given it a 1—no joke. The girl really annoyed me, both in appearance and personality.
Art: The art in this manga earned a 7 from me purely because of the male shinigami. He was beautifully illustrated, and the jewelry he wore was stunning in my opinion. Yet again, if it were based on the girl, the rating would have been a 1. To put it plainly, she was unattractive.
Enjoyment: Extremely poor. Nothing more to say.

*Shinigami Lovers* is a Shoujo manga by Yuuki Ryou, consisting of 2 volumes released in 2007.
- **SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!**
Story:
A high school student and aspiring nail artist named Miku Onda finds herself in a severe car accident, leaving her in a comatose state. As she lies unconscious in the hospital, a shinigami (god of death) named Sei arrives to escort her to the afterlife. Following protocol, he binds their souls together with a bracelet called "Thanatos Lover," ensuring they can never be separated. He also grants her one wish. Believing this to be a dream, Miku faints. Upon reaching the gates of the underworld, they discover her soul was brought there by mistake. She is sent back to the world of the living, but the chain binding them cannot be undone. Thus, Miku and Sei are tethered together by the Thanatos Lover until her natural death.

While I appreciate the plot concept, I disliked both the beginning and the ending. The story moves too quickly, but I still enjoyed certain scenes, leading me to rate it 5/10.
Art:
The art style highlights the classic Bishoujo and Bishounen aesthetics, featuring large eyes, flowing hair, and slender figures. Although occasionally messy and disproportionate, the artwork is pleasing overall. (7/10)
Characters:
I found the characters likable, except for Miku. She blushes excessively in nearly every situation, which was somewhat grating.
Enjoyment:
I enjoyed this mangaka's work so far. The humorous moments were effective, earning it a score of 6/10.
Overall: 6/10
*Shinigami Lovers* revolves around a girl bound to a handsome death god until her true demise. The narrative delves into the challenges faced by shinigami regarding their duties, ranks, and situations. While the focus isn't solely on the protagonists' romance, the story feels rushed, particularly at its start and conclusion. Nevertheless, I award it 6/10 due to its charming art and overall entertainment value.

This is my first manga review—hope you enjoy it! :)
The story seems to be leading up to some kind of romantic scene or big confession, and I was genuinely let down.
Overall, it was decent, but I think it could have been much better. I still recommend giving it a read, just don't expect too much from it. <p>
