Loose cultivator Shi Lang gradually realized he had reached near-invincibility. However, as he attempted to ascend to a higher realm, the world's spirit energy was almost depleted.
Faced with the choice between his own ascension or the safety of his world, he chose the latter and sacrificed himself to save it.
No one knew what he had given up for the world, and he never told anyone. Despite his unsung sacrifice, someone witnessed everything. A treasured artifact he carried preserved his soul, sparing him from complete annihilation.
Eons passed.
The human race moved from an age of cultivation into an era of stellar conquest. Spirit energy became scarce, but humans found new ways to excel.
In this advanced era, Shi Lang's soul has found a chance at rebirth. What happens when an ancient cultivator, who nearly reached deity status before his first death, gets a second chance in the space age?

My concern through the progression of the story (without spoiling anything) comes with the characters themselves. The MC does not have any philosophy for himself, or in other words, he is the type of every generic cliches that act like the MC empathizes with the weak and is clearly a beta male then in the next chapters the same MC becomes arrogant and thinks every single species are just ants to him. The same could be said to some characters in the story too.
All in all, I'd strongly recommend this to readers who want to have a quick read. In the end, face-slapping novels are still satisfying to read.
