The heartbreak resonates not because the main character explicitly expresses sadness, but rather because we can empathize with her emotional turmoil. We see her heartbreak unfold and continue to crumble, even though the overall tone isn't overly melancholic or anguished. Although it might seem like the entire world is against her at times, it's primarily her own internal struggle that becomes the most devastating torment.
- Readers seeking an angsty or emotionally intense experience, especially those who can relate to characters dealing with depression.
However, it might not be for everyone else:
- The story starts off promising a revenge narrative, but instead delivers heavy depression and narcissistic themes, which some may find unappealing.
The protagonist's constant self-pity and portrayal of her difficult life can feel repetitive and one-dimensional. The brothers' abusive behavior and lack of genuine remorse come across as shallow.
Despite the well-written depiction of pain, other aspects of the story fall short. The plot becomes monotonous once it hits a repetitive groove, and while the author attempts to introduce an intriguing love interest (ML), it fails to revitalize the story for me.
My overall rating is 2/5, with a slight bump to 3 points due to the author's skill with evoking emotions. Personal preferences play a role, so if you're interested, go ahead and give it a try, but this review reflects my perspective.
I would give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars, purely based on the精彩的beginnings. I highly recommend you read it, even if you choose to disregard my critique, as those initial arcs were truly exceptional.
And I agree 💯
FL is a deeply tragic figure, someone who feels isolated and alone. She yearns for peace in her melancholic existence, far removed from her dysfunctional family. Despite her genuine love for them, she faces constant hatred from her brothers and a father who failed to support her. As a result, she chooses to live a solitary life.
The story seems to delve deeply into the protagonist's emotional journey, as she works through past traumas. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, with the main character existing as a blend of her former self and the new persona she has forged. Her relationships, particularly with her father, are complex – he doesn't hold any ill will towards her, but his apathy contributes to her struggles. Her siblings present varying degrees of potential for growth, with one seemingly lost and the others offering opportunities for character development.
