"I swear, please believe me," Ashley Patterson insisted, gazing intently at the individuals inside the drenched vehicle. Rain poured down, wetting the car door, revealing a chilly facade. Ashley trembled, standing mere inches away from the open door, desperately calling out, "Let me explain." Before Ashley could rejoice, a powerful grip yanked her forcibly into the car, toppling her onto someone. Her damp clothes stained his pristine white shirt. "Milan Elise, I didn't arrange for Gina's murder..." Ashley started, but a merciless hand gripped her chin, muffling her voice with the deep timbre of his magnetic drawl. "Do you adore me to this extent?" His voice, clear and cool, carried a faint hint of cigarette smoke – a scent uniquely his. "Huh?" Ashley's confusion grew. Everyone knew she had feelings for him, so why did he pose the question suddenly? The man held Ashley's chin, his other arm extended, tenderly caressing her rain-soaked, cold cheek. Ashley's gaze became lost in his gentle eyes, as if she heard him softly inquire, "Are you cold?" Suddenly, a chill radiated from his body. He spoke coldly, "Ashley, do you love me so much that you'd kill for me? Kill Gina?" The icy chill seeped into her bones, jolting her back to reality. Ashley couldn't help but offer a bitter smile – she realized instantly that this gentleness couldn't possibly be genuine. It was nothing more than a devilish facade.
