On a chilly, breezy evening marred by a tempestuous storm, heavy rain pounded against the earth. A mysterious figure stood before an unassuming white house adorned with blue shutters. The dwelling, modestly sized with just two bedrooms, exuded a homely charm through its well-manicured flower beds and shrubs lining the lawn. The scent of woodsmoke from a nearby pellet stove wafted through the air, filling his nostrils. He took a deep breath and withdrew an ancient, weathered compass from his black trench coat. Its intricate design, reminiscent of the 14th century, featured a dented brass disc and faded Victorian engravings. Gazing at the compass, which pointed eastward toward the humble abode, he scrutinized the house for the most suitable entry point. Peering through the side window, he observed a cozy interior. The kitchen showcased sleek, all-black appliances against a linoleum floor, creating a contrast within the limited space. Cabinets crammed the walls, giving the area an appearance of being even more cramped than necessary. Adjacent to the kitchen, a single room served as both a living and dining area, with furniture so tightly arranged that only a narrow passage remained for movement. The dining table nearly touched the couch, creating a cozy yet intimate setting. As he stepped back into the shadows, he observed a young couple entering the kitchen. The wife, tall and graceful, possessed strawberry blond hair cascading around her face, accentuating her strong jawline. Her captivating deep blue eyes seemed to draw one in, while her fair skin, as soft as silk, completed her delicate features.
