Update to my comment below: "Rome Must Fall" was picked up by "Gemnovels," with 35 chapters currently translated. As I have caught up with the raws (chapter 192), in my opinion, the novel is great. The author has learned from his mistakes, and the characters are now much better written, with the MC being the biggest beneficiary. From the start, the MC is surrounding himself with knowledgeable and experienced people and actively learning from them. Battles are engaging to read, with historically accurate tactics. For now, the MC's army is completely based on Roman legions, but there are signs that it's going to diversify (hopefully, it will be like the Byzantine Empire with super heavy cataphracts). There are more Chinese accents this time (probably because Chinese readers insisted), like the MC's faction flag being an eastern dragon or the government being inspired by the Qing Dynasty. All in all, it's probably going to be one of the best kingdom-building novels out there.
Looking at the tags I was expecting another conquers path, now I'm only 40 chapters in but I have to say that this was not what I was expecting, this is a very beautiful written novel, it's slow, but not boring slow but actually very engaging, the characters are likeable, and the mc is strangely likeable to, the way the system is shown is a bit weird but easy to look over, so far it's just beautifully written and likeable in every way, I love the atmosphere and am looking forward to later chapters so much, I'm interested to see the fated battle will work out, to me I'd rate it 10/10 so far as it's everything I love
I absolutely love how intricate these books are, and how different this book is from "Forever in the Past and Forever in the Future", yet still brings the two stories together and gives us some insight into some of our absolute favorites from the previous book while developing love for new character
