Dragon Age: Origins fanfic featuring an original character whose life intersects with the Mage Warden's before the start of the game's events. Knowledge of the game is not needed, as most concepts are explained or can be puzzled out.
The son of a pig farmer gets taken to the tower where all mages are kept. Illiterate and quiet, he watches the lives of the mages from the sidelines and slowly learns the meaning behind the power that he had been given.
I'm posting this for archival purposes. I really enjoyed writing this a few years ago, and it's a shame to leave it to waste in my documents. There are 6 chapters / 12k words written, enough to pass a few hours if you like my writing, like slow-paced fantasy, or are bored enough.
