Honestly, his life was shit. He drifted through it, just a cold state of apathy. Never thinking for himself, always suppressing his own thoughts; he was tired of it. So, when he died, he just wished he had lived better. That he didn't have to hide who he was. That he could be who he was meant to be.
And he gets his wish. He doesn't know how. He doesn't even remember all that much. But hey. With a thirst for knowledge, an inability to sit still, and the occasional psychopathic thought, he's gonna live this life to the fullest.
