The Vast. The way station before a soul was sent to its veracious end. For thousands of years this place of judgment had been successfully guarded and maintained by an intricate network of beings dedicated to maintaining order amongst chaos. They call themselves the Menagerie. The Elders, those burdened with overseeing all of creation,. The Scorned, souls deemed valuable enough to return and defend humanity. The Sighted, the conduits between the differant factions. And the Wicked. Souls that found a way to bust out of their purgatorial prison and return to the world their death had ripped them from. These groups had maintained a balance of good and evil and life flourished on. Until the last twenty years or so. More and more Wicked were seeping back into the world, Scorned had gone missing, Attacks on humans had increased in both frequency and severity. It was almost as if they were searching for something... or someone.
