Life can be unpredictable, and family, though invaluable, can sometimes bring unexpected challenges. In my childhood, I found myself caught in a difficult situation with my biological mother and stepfather. Instead of offering comfort and protection, they filled my dreams with nightmares and their love was replaced by physical abuse. I can't pinpoint why they treated me that way, but I learned to endure, especially when a new baby, a precious little one, entered our lives.
